1970 J - MG B 1. 8 Roadster

Finished in British Racing Green with Black Leather Upholstery with White Piping and Wool Carpets this example represents the Marque Beautifully.

Built Some 15 Years Ago by "The Bromsgrove MG Centre" the restoration was based on a New Zinc Plated Heritage Body-shell and this particular car was the Sister Car to the One Built for the NEC Classic Car Show and was Part of an Extensive Feature Celebrating the Cars in the “MG Enthusiasts” Magazine.

The Bromsgrove MG Centre was highly regarded for the quality of their restoration work and considered leaders in the field - today they concentrate on component manufacture and are responsible for the re-manufacture of many MG Parts essential in keeping the Marque Alive.

This Car was constructed on a New Heritage Shell and everything was either New or where not available reconditioned to an "as new" standard. The Car was Built to a “Period” Specification which included : Chrome Wire Wheels. Traditional Black Leather Upholstery with White Piping. Four Speed all Synchro Gearbox with Overdrive. Genuine Mota-Lita Wood Rim Steering Wheel. Rebuilt Unleaded Engine. Stainless Steel Exhaust System. Halogen Headlights. Inertia Seat Belts. Folding Hood & Full Tonneau Cover in Traditional Black Vinyl

Post Motor Show this particular car was sold into single Private Ownership and has completed a mere 4339 miles being used on sunny days since.

The passing of time has done little to mar the original build quality and whilst the car has received regular service and maintenance we have undertaken a comprehensive but sensible Service and Re-Commission Program to bring the car to the Standard that it is today.

We are getting quite well known ( and commended ) for the quality of our re-commissioning and undertake works thoroughly to ensure the next custodian purchases a vehicle which is as good as it can be.

On the Mechanical Side we have changed the Engine Oil ( Millers 20w50 ). Gearbox Oil ( Millers 20w50 ). Differential Oil ( Millers 80w90 ). We have Serviced and Adjusted the Brakes. replaced Brake Fluid. We have fitted New Air Filters. New Electronic Ignition. Distributor Cap. Rotor Arm. Plug Leads & Spark Plugs. New we have Conducted a Compression Test to reveal excellent cylinder compression and conducted a thorough check of Oil Pressure with Workshop equipment to reveal excellent results ( which are documented in the History File )The Coolant System has been Flushed a New Thermostat Fitted. all Coolant & Heater Hoses and the Coolant Replaced. The Suspension has been inspected and all lubrication points greased.

Internally the Car presents as the day it was built and is a testament to its previous custodian.

The Chrome Wire Wheels Present “As New” and whilst the Dunlop Tyres Looked Like new and showed no signs of cracking these would have been over 10years old so went in the bin and a new set have been fitted.

The underside is in body shows not degradation but a protective measure it has been treated to a fresh coat of High Quality Corrosion Inhibiting Wax Protection

Bodily the chrome work is as the day it was fitted and the original 15 year old paintwork has been detail polished for 2 days and sealed with a quality wax - such is the attention to detail.

The Car Drives incredibly well and I can honestly say it is the nicest that I have ever driven.

Pictures of this car have been extensively used for articles and adverts from the period - copies of some are contained in the History File.

I am Genuinely Confident that the New Owner will be ecstatic with this Car and will derive a lot of pleasure from ownership – it is a car to be proud of.
