Chassis No. GRO6. Reg No. DTU 978. £35. 00.

Snippets: Brewers to Pickles & Patella.

Delivered to Charles G Boddington a scion of the Boddington Brewing family. Charles had the car delivered to Oversley House in Morley and later registered GRO6 at his other property Heawood Hall in Cheshire. Heawood Hall dates from the 17th Century & previous inhabitants of the Hall are Sir Graeme Elphinstone who in 1890 discovered a double snowdrop which he named after his wife – Lady Elphinstone and Charles Edwin Crabtree who was a Cotton Waste Manufacturer. In 1945 GRO6 is shown as being with the firm of Cowburns of Burnley – the firm's business was Herbal Brewers. Mineral Water & Pickles with one of their products being “Patella” a soft champagne type beverage. In 1956 the name on chassis card is shown as Mr Tiplady – unfortunately there is no address shown so Mr Tiplady will remain a mystery.
