1980 Mercedes Benz 280SL With Detachable Hardtop NEW Soft TOP Daily Driver R107 in Lower Plenty, VIC

Here are some details. Includes new soft top and detachable hardtop. Daily driver for the last five years. Registered until August 2015. yes - that is ages away. but I'm selling without RWC so I guess that means the rego doesn't get transferred Has chrome trims over the wheel arches and chrome strips down the side that most other SL's don't have. Fully sick. The car comes with Detachable hard top in good condition. New carpets Starts first time. every time. It is really quick. All the stuff like lights. electric windows. wipers. washers. horn etc works fine. Selling without a RWC. I haven't had it tested so I don't know what it would need. I don't have the time. Grab yourself a bargain. The front seats have some tears. That's why it has sheep skin seat covers fitted. Also the sheep skin covers look really cool and luxury. The central locking. which is vacuum driven. doesn't work if the car is left sitting for a couple of days. I bought this car back in 2009. Fixed it up real good.

-New front disc rotors.

-brake pads. -

brake calipers overhauled.

-new lower control arm bushes.

-new sway bar bushes.

-fixed vacuum system leaks.

- new rocker cover gaskets.

-replaced floor pans

-replaced most of the door and boot seals.

-transmission serviced.

-fuel injection adjusted

-new soft top

-new carpets
But this happened. When we got our RWC and presented it for registration we had to get a surrogate VIN issued as the VIN on these is stamped on the front radiator shroud from the factory. and like many of these cars. that had been replaced and the number hadn't been stamped back in. We have all the Vic Roads paperwork for that and it is fully registered under its new VIN. All the original ID plates are present and the engine number and chassis number match.  The original VIN on the tages is WDB10704512000366. The car had some rust in the boot floor fixed before we got it. We just had to replace the footwells when we got the RWC. The paint on the bonnet looks a little lighter shade than the rest of the car. as though it's faded slightly. The air cond is all there and hooked up. but I've never used it. It's bound to need regasing.
yawn. but it's on the road now. Legit.
This is a lovely looking car that goes well. Get it now so you can enjoy top down motoring over Summer. Treat yo'self.
Selling this car makes me sad - because it's so damn cool. But I have become a boring Audi owner now. so there's that. And having two cars is slightly too extravagant for my life style.
If you have any questions. my dad will answer them because he is very wise and knows a great deal about cars so he will be better at answering your questions than I am because as Gwen Steffani says "I'm just a girl" - jokes - sexism isn't cool.

If you really want my car and don't have the cash. then I would consider a swap for a nice BMW R90S or Moto Guzzi Mk1 LeMans or 750S. That's it as far as swaps go. do bother offering me anything else.

Car can be inspected in Lower Plenty by arrangement with my dad.  You are bidding to buy. not to look.  Please don't bid unless you are willing to follow through with the sale.
