Cherished 1985 Jaguar Sovereign Same Motoring Journo Owner Since August 2004 in Gympie, QLD

Sale price: $4,400.00 make an offer

Car location: Amamoor, Queensland, Australia

Seller's notes: I bought this beautiful Sebring Red XJ Series III Sovereign with Luxury Pack from Caulfield Jaguar, having already known the car for its previous four years. It will be eligible for club rego early next year and is currently on full Queensland rego. A safety certificate can be supplied at cost. It went onto Queensland plates in October 2012 and won't require much work to pass the test. During my tenure the Jag has been improved. It has received rust repairs around both screens and quite a lot of fresh paint because when I bought it the livery was several shades of Sebring Red (one of two special order factory colours, the other being black). Paul Zazryn modified the cylinder head some years ago and equipped the car with a brilliant CES racing exhaust(nicely muted but still with that Le Mans sound). In my ten and a half years, the car has covered less than 30,000km. It has no rust. The upholstery has been revivified with red contrasts. In excellent condition, it's a joyous drive!

The Luxury Pack included cruise. sunroof and trip computer. Unfortunately only the roof still works. But the power windows are all fine.
For most of the past 10 years the car has lived under cover and as a result there is little sun damage - no cracks in the crashpad. Some cracking is evident in the biscuit panels in the rear seat. Headlining is good. Tyres are excellent.
The air-conditioning doesn't work on cooling but demists the interior with great speed.
A beautiful wood-rimmed and wood-centered Momo wheel matches the walnut of the dashboard perfectly. I have even fitted a matching T-bar knob.
There is extensive history of this car from new.
I have set a realistic reserve for this car but I do not have to sell it. As I prepare to retire I am downsizing the collection and have already sold my Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. MGB. Targa Tasmania class-winning Impreza WRX. Series 2 Jaguar. Triumph Stag. Audi 200 and Skoda Fabia RS. If the Jag fails to reach the reserve. then I'll be selling something else.
The cylinder head and exhaust upgrades deliver quite surprising urge in the mid- and high-rpm ranges. Where most XJs run out of puff over 4000rpm. this one craves a run at Lakeside! Fuel economy at constant throttle openings is also improved with an old-fashioned 20 miles per gallon attainable on long trips.
Good luck to whoever bids on this car. It's a beauty.
