Rare opportunity to buy a rock solid and completely original VW T2 Bay Double Cab.

Imported from dry state inland Africa.

This van has an amazing patina and is in completely original paint except for the front panel. There are scuffs and scratches mostly to the load bed area but only to be expected on a commercial vehicle in original condition. The body and undersides are in fantastic rust free condition having never been welded and still completely original factory steel. The only rust at all is confined to a few superficial very small holes in the load bed towards the cab as shown in pics.

Apparently it was laid up in a warehouse for over 30 years and this partly explains the condition as well as the mileage which reads 104k km ( 65k miles ) and is believed genuine having spoken to the previous owner but cannot be confirmed or backed up with documentation.

On the road it is a pleasure to drive. the original 1600cc engine pulls along nicely with a nice positive gearchange and steering as sharp as you will find on an old Transporter.

It has just sailed through a new MOT and is currently being UK Registered at DVLA.

This has been keenly priced to sell quickly and won't be here long. these Double Cabs are highly sought after and to find one in this condition is almost a unique opportunity.
