DAIMLER SOVEREIGN 420 SALOON - LOW MILEAGE BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE ! for sale

The Jaguar 420 and Daimler Sovereign models were produced from 1966 until 1969. They are the most under-rated of the 60's Jaguars and outsold all of the other saloons in '67 and '68. Contemporary road tests show similar performance to the MK2 3. 8 but on the road these cars feel quicker and more advanced and they were in effect a test bed for the incoming XJ6.

This car is a 1968 Daimler Sovereign automatic in Opalescent Red Metallic with beige leather trim. The mileage reading is just 42. 00 which I cannot guarantee but the old MOT's indicate that this is almost certainly correct. This Daimler had a very high quality body restoration in the 90's and remains in beautiful condition today. The underside is excellent and the high quality paint finish is uniform inside the door shuts and inner wings. As you would expect. this car is rust free and the panel fit is superb. We have just carried out substantial re-commissioning after a period of little use including. new radiator. header tank and hoses. new alternator. five new sections of exhaust. distributor and carburettors fully re-built. engine service – plugs. filters. oil. condenser. coil. leads and various bushes and boots replaced on the steering and suspension. This Daimler is now running and driving superbly and ready to use.


The 420 and Sovereign offer outstanding value for money. a Mk2 in this condition would be £20k plus and the 420 is in many ways a better car – the Daimler version is also quite rare.
