Daimler Dart SP250 1962 Restoration Project

Needs final finishing

Chassis fully restored

Engine rebuilt

Body restored and re-sprayed

Here we have Daimler dart genuine right hand drive (Only 1200 ever made). Many many hours and much money spent.

Chassis completely stripped. rebuilt and resprayed. All new suspension parts where needed. New koni shocks. New discs. New callipers. New brake lines. New master cylinders.

Engine dismantled and rebuilt +10thou mains. +10thou big ends. +30thou piston rings.  All new gaskets. New Kevlar water hoses. stainless steel pipes. All other items checked as ok. Not yet run since rebuild but showing 50psi on oil gauge when turned on starter. New exhaust system fitted

Body completely stripped. Re gel coated where needed. 3 stage priming and rubbing down. 3 top coats. 4 coats lacquer. Needs final wet n dry and polish for concourse finish but very acceptable as is.

As you can see from the photographs it is now a rolling chassis with body placed on it. needs final fixing and all other parts to complete are included except to my knowledge just the speedo and rev counter. Some will need more work than others some will need replacing all of which are available from specialist suppliers. The car has had a Triumph steering rack fitted. original steering assembly available. Lots of extra bits and bobs included with the sale.

This is a great project for somebody to complete. Really just needs interior and chrome work.   All major hard work done to very high standard. Estimate 5-6k to purchase parts to complete including interior (quoted 3k)

As you may or may not be aware these cars are fetching 35-40k finished so there is plenty of room to make a decent profit on resale or have yourself a bargain to drive!

Originally supplied November 1962 to dealers in Aberdeen in mountain blue with grey leather.

Imported from Jersey so no UK registration at present but all matching numbers and keys which correspond with Daimler records. So should be easy to register and possibly get age related number plate as I am led to believe.
