Situated in Nottinghamshire. MK Sportscars was founded by Martin
Keenan and has become one of the big players at the affordable end
of the UK's huge Lotus Seven inspired kit car scene. From an
embryonic start. producing chassis and suspension components for
the Locost. the company was quick to develop its own roadster in
2000 and has since constantly developed the product while
maintaining a clear focus on affordability allied to quality and
high performance. The first model was the Indy; a Ford Sierra based
roadster. Good honest value for money made the Indy incredibly
popular and demand quickly surpassed the amount of work Martin
Keenan wanted to do. In 2004 he sold the company to his brother
Phil and his business partner Barry Lunn. They had already worked
with MK for several years and hit the ground running with the newly
named MK Sportscars. Both Phil and Barry have been involved in
motorsport of some kind since they were old enough to walk. Due to
continued success they moved to bigger and better premises due to
the demand of the new model Indy R and the development of the bolt
on trike kits.

This 2002 MK Sportscar Indy has the Honda 900cc Fireblade engine
which revs to nearly 12. 00rpm. has a top speed of about 120mph
and. with its six speed sequential gearbox. does zero to sixty in
about four seconds - racing car material. Built for both road and
track. it is fitted with a four point Willians racing harness. br/>battery cut-out and fire extinguishers. It is easy to set up with
adjustable shock absorbers and easy to drive with the help of the
clutchless sequential gearbox. Finished in orange with black racing
seats. this Indy is supplied with an MoT test certificate which
expires in February 2016 and the vendor hopes to have the V5C
registration document by the time of the auction. The car is road
legal. so lovely to take for a spin on a nice summer's day;
however. it is impossible to get anywhere near to the limits of the
car on the public road and the real fun is to be had out on the
track - the car is quick. very quick. and is at its happiest on the
corners where you will find it sticks like glue.
