Reluctant sale of my super rare 1963 Volvo 122 Amazon wagon.
I am only selling because of a job offer and i'm moving indefinitely. If i had a garage to store it in i would!
It's in fantastic shape for a 50 year old and has been my daily driver for 6 months. In and out of the city daily from the northern beaches without a hitch!
Naturally it does have a small list of minor problems. I was saving to get them all done at once but ran out of time.
They are:Driver side and both rear windows have either come off their cradles or the cables are broken because they don't wind up or down. They can be pushed up and down by hand which is what i've been doing. Passenger window works fine though! Needs a few new mounts. i. e. Engine mounts could be replaced. gearbox mounts and the exhaust moves a little. The car drives fine but there is a small amount of movement.  Break pads have started to sound a little scratchyTyre tread is starting to get pretty lowRust. For a 50 year old there's actually not much! Both sides. underneath the lower sills that run from behind the front wheel arch to the front of the rear wheel arch have holes starting to emerge. Best thing to do would be to replace the entire panels either side. Would definitely be the biggest job of the whole resto. The positives are:Its had a reconditioned engine with about 55. 00kmsUpgraded gear box with 5th gear overdrive. excellent for highway driving! Its fairly straight from front to backInterior is almost perfectIt starts first go every time and doesn't blow smokeTinted windows all roundHad an original colour re-spray in the 80's. rust removed etc. Registered until July 2013When the rear seats are folded down you can fit a double mattress in the back and sleep in it! I'm 6'2" and i've had many sleepovers! Box of extras/original partsThe CD/DVD player that i have installed has a 7" fold out screen to watch movies when camping.  Other notes based on questions i received in the previous listing. There are a couple of areas where the paint is starting to bubble and crack suggesting there is rust underneath. Photos of the lower sills are the worst.  I have removed the light/logo from the rear boot (you can see the mount holes in pics) It is completely fine and i do have it. i just preferred the look without it.  The rego is until the 31st of July so almost 3 months remaining! Original number platesExtensive documentation/receipts dating back to the 60's. (as seen in photo)It is a B20 engine that has been reconditioned. not the B18 that came stock.  The gearbox is a Volvo original with overdrive unit.  It has had a front end disc brake conversion and has a brand new brake booster fitted roughly. but no more than. 6 months ago. (brakes are incredible!)I've been told by a classic car restorer that this car is one of about 7 on the road in Australia. Rust. The passenger side sill underneath is the worst. I had a poke and prod and uncovered a few holes along the way. its not in the best shape! As i said earlier. both sides need replacing. There some spots around the driver side and passenger side rear wheel arches. some bubbling on the left and right side around the windscreen. lower and underneath passenger side front quarter panel (which extends from that lower sill). and some small bubbling in the left side rear door at the bottom.  Im trying to go into as much detail as possible because i am getting a few interstate buyers interested. I dont want anyone to get any surprises if you can't come and test drive the car yourself.
If you are a serious buyer and can make the trip to the Northern Beaches i really recommend it. Come for a test drive and go over it with a fine tooth comb so you know exactly what you are buying!
Any other questions that i havent covered. just message me. Ill get back to you ASAP.
Vehicle is located on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Thanks.
