This very beautiful Daimler Double Six was first serviced in London in May of 1987. The original log book then shows it was regularly serviced till the last service in England dated 22nd October 1998 at Surrey. It was then imported into Australia by the then English owner when he emigrated to Australia. The original import papers are in a folder with the Australian service history. C&H Leaver. Jaguar Specialists of Artarmon. continued the service of this vehicle.

This Daimler has only done a total of some 118. 00 miles.

I am the fouth owner of this classic automobile. The second owner bought the car in England in 1994. and then brought it out to Australia when he emigrated here in 1998. It then went to its third owner in 2008. who did not wish to sell this car but due to circumstances did not have a choice. I bought the Daimler in 2012. I enjoy working on collectable cars but due to health changes cannot continue so unfortunately am selling this beautiful and highly collectable vehicle.

When I got the Daimler I checked the compression of the engine. The only cylinder that was a bit down was No. 1 in A bank. It was 190. All the rest were 200 and above. I checked with the throttle closed so this could have also reduced the reading. At the same time I removed all the injectors. had them cleaned and installed new rubbers. Also changed the spark plugs. The V12 runs well with plenty of smooth power at hand.

While everything works on the car. including air conditioning.

The automatic gearbox and the whole driveline are incredibly smooth. This car is a joy to drive.

As you can see in the pictures the leather on the base of the drivers seat needs attention. This does not affect the comfort. which is excellent. The base of the passengers seat is showing a few signs of wear-very minor I think. The rear seats and roof lining are perfect. Remember that this vehicle has not been restored-you are seeing a very original and unmolested Daimler Sovereign.

When I bought the Daimler I was told that it did not have any rust. and nor could I see any. I did not put it up on a hoist then. Since then I have put it up on my hoist. I have found a rust hole on the underside of the back of the boot. It is in no way structural and would be an easy repair. You could also clean it up and paint with some fish oil to stop any further rust. You can only see it from underneath when the car is lifted by a hoist.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.

Comments and questions to the seller:

from Brian J Palmer, dated 09 may 2015
Dear Sir,
I am genuinely interested in this vehicle, I have several questions for you
1.Is it registered and for how long, if not when was it last
registered would it require a blue slip etc.
2. Is it roadworthy certified or when was the last it was
inspectd for road worthiness.
3. Since the last time you looked at the rust, has it
progressed since.
4. I have noticed with many Jaguars and Daimlers of this
series/model a tendancy for rust in the rear pillars where
they join to the body between the fuel filler flap and the
base of the pillar. Is there any indications of such.
5. You were kind enough to point out in your updates, further
faults such as the cruise control and rear passenger
window not responding. Are there any further issues that
may need attention as well, such as suspension, engine
bay hoses , brakes and exhaust system. I intend to
continue having the the car serviced by Jaguar only. When
was the last time it was serviced by a Jaguar service
centre.
6. While I understand this is almost a vintage luxury
vehicle and expect to spend a some time and money on
restoration and something like this car would be deemed a
family project (interior), my main concern is, would it be
relaible enough to be driven regularly 3days/week
(short distances) and on a Sunday. Driving conditions would
be rural and it would be "garaged" in a semi rural area. The
occasional trip from Windsor NSW to Mudgee and maybe a
long distance drive to Adelaide 3 times a year. Would this
be possible with this car, as it is, without any major work
required.
7. Are there any serviceable spares that come with it.
8. What type of drivers seat fitted, is it adjustable like the
later models (8 point memory) and does it have heating
(this is not crucial). I have a severe back problem and
really seeking a smoothe car that I can drive comfortably.
9. Can the it be safely converted to LPG/petrol operation and
what fuel does it need presently, ulp, premium or fuel
additives etc..

This is a genuine enquiry, I look forward to your earliest repsonse thank you
Best Regards
Brian J Palmer.
