FOR SALE: British Leyland Mini Pick-up

EQUIPMENT
Sun visors. Seat belts. Tilt tubes and removable cover. Sliding windows. Ash tray. Electric heater. Windscreen washer. Unused spare wheel. Toolkit.

EXTERIOR
This Leyland Pick-up is a glorious example. and is finished in the correct Sand Glow paint colour. It has been heavily restored and as a result there is no corrosion at all to the bodywork. which presents very nicely indeed.

While the overall finish is to a high standard. the paintwork is not wholly concourse but certainly looks stunning and is guaranteed to hold the gaze of any passers-by. Furthermore. all the chrome bright work is in excellent order. retaining its factory-fresh mirror shine. Similarly. all the lenses on the vehicle are crystal clear with no signs of any cracking or moisture. It is no surprise then that all the rubbers and seals around the vehicle show zero signs of deterioration either.

The cargo area is finished equally well and does not appear to have been used at all since its refurbishment. The tailgate operates well and feels solid to open and close.

INTERIOR
The inside of the Pick-up is a simple yet enjoyable place to be. Trimmed in the original black vinyl. the seats are in very good order. as are the door cards and dash. along with the matching vinyl door check straps.

Furthermore. the central instrument cluster has stood the test of time as has the steering wheel and gear lever. All the switchgear feels solid to operate and appears original. The fitted brown carpet presents in ‘as new' condition. Stowed behind the tilt-able front seats. the battery and spare wheel are neatly hidden away.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Lifting the bonnet reveals the tiny 848cc engine. The engine bay is in nice order however there is light surface corrosion to a select few components. The engine was removed for the restoration but now remains in solid. original condition and so everything appears exactly as it should.

WHEELS. BRAKES & TYRES
The ten inch pressed steel wheels also present very well. They are finished off with chrome hubcaps and are shod in a new set of Falken tyres. including the spare.

Looking underneath the car. the brake hubs and their various components appear in very fine fettle indeed.

HISTORY
First registered on 19th October 1979. this Pick-up has covered just 71. 35 miles in its lifetime. With only three former keepers. it is currently owned by a Mini enthusiast.

Included with the car is an original sales brochure for the British Leyland Mini Van and Pick-up. as well as other Mini brochures and items of period Mini literature.
