1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo

She only has 16000 or so miles. she was part of a museum collection and had been for nearly 13 years.

In the last few months (and hardly any miles) she has been subject to the following.

Wheels refurbed in Reflex Charcoal

Stainless sports back box fitted. new HT leads. All timing belts and fluids changed. new battery. New mats. interior restored. two new custom alloy fuels tanks fitted with all fuel ancillaries and new seating (this alone was an engine out job). New custom alloy header tank. engine repainted. New fuel pump. new clutch master. slave and lines (now all braided and completely restored original Master/ slave). new engine rubber seals. rear windows taken out/ refurbed and all seals replaced with better fitting parts. plus lots more I have likely forgotten.

Prior to this she was fully resprayed in Lamboughini Orange and upgraded body to the later V8 style with an SE rear spoiler.

She is completely watertight. all electrics work

She starts everytime and is fantastic to drive. exceptionally quick.

I took her for Rego and she failed on

Chassis needs a plate welded on. a spot weld needed at bottom of chassis. brake line kinked (custom made new braided ones ordered so will be supplied with car). parking brake needs adjusting and engine needs degreasing on the bottom (top has been repainted)

I have also noticed one headlight (out of four) isnt working so presumed bulb. the door rubber seal is the wrong size so needs replacing. the new exhaust has a slight rattle on start up but sorts itself out- just needs adjusting on bracket. speedo is getting stuck - this is just the magnet inside speedo needs knocking back into place.

The aircon pump is also seized.

One stone chip on front bumper as shown in pic and slight crack in front indicator.

She comes with spare handbrake leather gaitor custom made (not got around to fitting). set of custom rear lights (also not yet fitted) . aircon belt (never fitted as seized) plus other little bits and bobs.

She also needs an engineers certificate (approx $500) - I have done everything required with exception of the brake lines which have been ordered with relevant ADR stamps and DAKAR paperwork.

 I will not accept any silly offers- the above work is well over $20k in the last year alone. the respray and genuine lotus bodykit were nearly another $15k.  She has an agreed value as she sits now for $38k with Shannons. I am more than willing to negotiate finishing all the work but this will be at your cost. I estimate about $2k plus rego/stamp costs.  

This is one of the best looking esprits about. to buy a standard one and get it looking anywhere near this you will have to double the purchase price. Draws a crowd wherever you go

Three reasons for sale

1- I am 6'5 - makes it a little tight to drive long distances

2 - Cannot fit a baby seat in it

3- I have four similar high performance sportscars. I am keeping two and selling two.

Might consider a swap for a classic RHD restored mustang. mid 60's preferably.
