1968 Mustang Eleanor

This project started off as a $20K mustang which I bought on ebay about 8 years ago. After taking it apart and getting rid of any rust etc. I basically ended up with an expensive roof from that car.

I bought a Nascar style  full frame from Muscle Up Performance in Janesville Wisconsin. The frame was powder coated and had the best of the best parts for the suspension. Four link rear suspension with a Winters rear end. QA1 coil springs. Sweets power steering rack. heim joints for all suspension pivots. adjustable anti-sway bars. Wildwood 4 piston calipers and discs. The brakes are power with and adjustment for front to rear bias.

A top line Eleanor kit was selected along with all new panels throughout. The Eleanor  was cloned as much as possible to the original car. All glass is new along with all trim etc. Nothing was reused from the original car except the roof and door pillars.

The engine is a 302 Ford Dart block. All new components were selected with only the best equipment. There is so much to list but engine dyno gave it 560hp at 10 psi boost and just under 600 ft. lb. of torque with 10psi from the Novi Paxton supercharger. The air cooled intercooler will only increase these numbers with a base lone of 600 hp. This does not count the water injection nor the 200hp Edelbrock nitrous boost which has not been filled or used.

The transmission is a Tremec 5 speed TK600 to handle the enormous torque and power along with a Zoom clutch and hydraulic throwout bearing. A short shifter was also added to the transmission.

Some of the special features which you will not see on other cars like this is that the engine sits 2 inch back from its original location and 2 inches lower. Extensive work was required to move the fire wall back and an external belt drive oil pump and Moroso 7 quart oil pan without a sump. The oile filter is an external in line model. This gives the car much better weight distribution and a lower center of gravity.

A frame mounted roll bar was installed along with vintage seat belts. The interior is complete with appropriate seats and leatherette door panels. Rear Bose speakers were taken from my GT-2 and installed at the rear.

Wheels are 17 inch with Riken Raptor 245 and 275 tires.

Autometer gauges have been incorporated into the dash with an aluminum bezel.

Additional sheet metal has been installed under the car and through the fron to manage the airflow beneath the car.

The GT500 stripe is painted on not a $45 decal. The trunk has an electrical latch and can be opened from the glove box. Also an emergency pull cord in case the battery dies.

There are so many features and I am sure I am forgetting a lot of them however I will try and update them during the auction.

I have included a few pictures of the car during the build so you can see what makes it better than anything out there.

I will help with shipping and as the car is more than 25 years old getting it into the USA will not be a problem.
