1967 Oldsmobile 442Sport Coupe

 

History

 

The Oldsmobile 442was a muscle car produced by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. It wasintroduced as an option package for F-85 and Cutlass models sold in the UnitedStates beginning with the 1964 model year. The 442 title comes from theconfiguration of the car: a four-barrel carburetor. a four-speed manualtransmission. and dual exhaust pipes.

 

For 1967 the 442'sstyling and base engine remained the same. The 1967 442 package was based onthe top-line Cutlass Supreme series including the sport coupe (with centerpost). Holiday hardtop coupe and convertible. The heavy-duty floor-mountedthree-speed manual transmission was now standard. and front disc brakes were anew option this year. Standard equipment on all models included Strato bucketseats or no-cost notchback bench seat. full carpeting. expanded Morocceen vinylupholstery. heavy-duty suspension with rear sway bar. and wide-oval tires. Power front disc brakes were $104. while power steering was $94.
