I see many classic cars on eBay stating "mechanically sound. but exterior needs . "  This TR6 is the polar opposite.   In short. a mechanic's dream that needs little/no attention to cosmetics.

Exterior:  I've owned this car for 2. 5 years.   The previous owner did a limited restoration. including changing exterior color from original paint code "54" (Mimosa Yellow) to the current blue seen in photos.   Paint job is by no means perfect. more of a 5-10 footer with light swirls and light scratches.   The driver's rocker has a few deeper scratches that exposed the original yellow paint (see photo). but they are cosmetic in nature only.   He also re-badged the re quarter panels with the Union Jack TR6 emblem.   I note this because for anyone interested in a pure. truly original TR6. the Union Jack did not appear on TR6s until the 1972 model year; prior to that was a simple "TR6" letter badge.   I'm not enough of a purist to go to the trouble to make the change.   I've replaced the two front rims and installed Coker Redline tires (all four rims are 72-spoke and. although tires are approximately two years old. still have the little "nubs" as seen on new tires from the manufacturing process).   In addition. I installed a tan tonneau cover to match the interior and have added approximately 1. 00 miles to the odometer.   NEEDS:  The convertible top is installed and functional (color is black) but there are pinholes that let water in (learned of this the first time I washed the car. haven't put the top up since and never driven in the rain. so unsure of the problem's magnitude beyond my experience with one car wash).

Interior:  Previous owner did stay true to the original trim code "33. "  I've installed a 15" Moto Lita steering wheel and replaced the shift knob.   Aside from these items and a new set of floor mats. everything you see in photos is as it was when I purchased the car.   To my knowledge. there are no needs in the passenger compartment.

Mechanicals:  This is where the "dream" comes in.   Although the engine looks immaculate on the outside. internally it is challenged with letting too much oil pass through the cylinders. which fowls the plugs after 50 miles and causes plenty of white smoke to blow from the tailpipes.   At a minimum. it needs new piston rings. maybe more but cannot be diagnosed until you get in there.   In addition. the right rear axle bearings could stand to be replaced (shimmies at highway speeds) and the rear differential leaks.   As is the case with all but the rarest of Little British Cars. there are occasional drips of engine oil left behind on the garage floor.   Last. I replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders. and the master brake cylinder due to a leak.   The leaking fluid drained into the engine compartment and caused minor paint damage (see photo).

Please note. you are reviewing a car that was manufactured in December 1970.   45 years is a long time for anything mechanical to age.   I've described this TR6 to the best of my ability and knowledge. but there are bound to be things a new owner may notice or feel needs attention.   I have a perfect feedback rating that I fully expect to keep following this sale.   Please ask any questions and I will do my best to answer.   It's important that we are both satisfied with the selling process for this car prior to awarding ownership to the winning bidder.

 Couple of updates. folks:

A).   My apologies for unintentionally including wrong info in original vehicle description.   First. the original exterior color code "54" was for Saffron Yellow in the 1971 model year. nbsp; Mimosa Yellow was not a color option until 1973;  Second. the Union Jack badges did not appear on rear quarter panels until 1973. not 1972 as I stated in the listing.

B).   If you have "0" feedback or negative feedback. please contact me prior to bidding to ensure a seamless sale.   My apologies for not making this request when vehicle was listed.

C).   Vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
