The front disk brakes are called "WHOA" brakes through a Fiat outfit. some of you Fiat fans probably know who it is. They're Wilwood and with the wheel off. they're really easy to change out the pads. The pads that are on it are racing pads so they squeak a bit.
The title is Wyoming and it is a standard clear title.
I also have an extra set of Fiat seats in green velour. (yuck). they came out of a 67 spider (original year). that I carved up because it had a terminal case of rot. I would have like to have gone back to small seats although Fiat seat pans are pretty flimsy. (ever notice the driver's seat in most spiders kind of leans to the right? Yeah. us fat old guys trying to relive the glory days. I also have a nice. nice windshield with the rubber around it as well as a rounded front convertible bar. in case you'd like to go from the 76 front square edge one to a more rounded model. The spare is original fiat although. I don't think it will fit as I'm thinking about it because: The back chevy rotors were new. drilled to fit a four bolt 100mm pattern and in order to not have to carry 2 different size spares. the front wheels have a heavy duty aluminum spacer with bolts drilled and set on 100mm also. What else? The hood as you can see in the pics was custom hand louvered up the sides and in the middle. (a $500 item).
So as soon as I clicked "save" I'd forgotten something else. A common point of weakness in old 124 Spiders is the top of the shock towers. They tend to rust out. These are not damaged.On Jan-13-15 at 23:50:23 PST. seller added the following information:
OK. must be late and I'm loopy. One other thing I uploaded pics a while ago to a gallery at italiancarclub. That is a dot com site. I can't allude to an internet site on ebay as it has some really good software and won't allow it. If you're not sure google those three words put together. It has pictures of the build as well as the other car shown quickly in the video of the car I had redone for my wife. These cars look excellent with the bumpers off and the front/rear bumper shock holes filled in. That car had aftermarket headlights with the blinker built into the headlight. cool! It's the one in candy apple red with the red alfa like seats in the interior. It was sold as my wife would rather drive her KIA. whatever. It went to Billings. MT to a very happy customer also at a fraction of what I put into it. (that means no more cars for the wifey). I think there's a pic or two of some I cut up as well as a Triumph Spitfire I also had. (that's a flimsy car).
Also. I didn't get the car in 2003 per those pics I got it in 2001. no matter. it still hasn't been driven much. Since I teach 150 miles out of town and it's winter here. and the roads can be bad. I don't drive it in the winter. I have driven it to Ethete on the Wind River Reservation where I teach special education. It's normally a 2 1/2 hour drive. One year when my dog. (favorite border collie). was having seizures. I made it to Casper in an hour. It floats at 160 and that's real disconcerting. It's also deafening.
One other thing. As you notice the engine goes beyond the old firewall. the plate where the windshield washer arms are attached can be removed. (I've never put the screws back in. Because the engine is a lot longer than the original 4. something had to be sacrificed which is another reason why I don't drive this in the winter. There is no heater. (no room for it). The firewall gets plenty hot in the summer so summer nights you can warm your hands on that!
Also. as this is a vette motor. and I had bought it new in Detroit attached to the 700r4 with the shift kit in it. it came with plastic plugs in the sparkplug holes. Since it's corvette. it's aluminum. The heads are aluminum. On the 94 LT1. they were notorious for the ignition being on the front lower half of the engine. Well. moisture would get in here and they would fail. The ignition has been moved back to that area above and behind the engine and it's custom again. It's a Deltec ignition. (another pricey item).
In my search for a little more oomph. I had the throttle body. originally a 37mm I believe. replaced with a 58mm I think Edlebrock as well as a completely new intake. Well the engine runs good but it seems it doesn't have that punch off the start as it once did that would make your passenger grab the door and the windshield and holler "Holy Sh**". My mechanic. (Wayne Glasgow. ho built the car. formally of Powerstroke Performance in Casper. who now lives across Hoover Dam towards Kingman in White Hills. Arizona. he said the computer probably needs to be reprogrammed to accompany that change. It runs well still with 25mpg on the hwy. (in the summer). Wayne can build you anything from scratch. You should see his wind generator. I want one!Google Wayne Glasgow and look at the pics of his Chevy over 200mph car that he built himself. Talk about a deafening engine. I stood beside it at Bandemere as he revved it. and it about jarred my brain loose. It's a nitrous injected-blown blue chevy camaro that runs on alcohol. He and his son. Wayne Jr. built the car. Wayne Jr. custom builds cars at Steve's Hot Rod Garage in St. George. Utah. Friend them on Facebook. they would build one for you probably cheaper now that they know how to do it.
