1975 Leyland Mini Panel Van – currently on historic/club rego.

Full ground up rebuild in 2007 – only 8120km driven since rebuild.

Really showed the car love in it's time. But the common Australian genuine story of a wife & 3 young kids is alive and well in my household these days. leaving minimal time to appreciate it. The last couple of years I have only driven it to get the RMC done. then put it back in the shed to stay until the following rego period. Really would be a great buy for someone interested in putting their own touch on the car. or driving it as is. I want someone to love this car as much as I have in the past. Driving it makes you smile. because families love minis. Most people learnt to drive in one. or had one as their first car.

The Bad News – Only minors. If you can live with these. you would be stupid not to buy this car.

Paint job has gone “crows feet” over time. and no amount of pro painting friends have come up with a suggestion. other than a bad batch of clear coat.

Even with a full rebuild. the engine leaks some oil. Mini pros tell me it is normal. and hard to eliminate completely. They call it “in-built corrosion protection”.

The Good News - Just about everything was replaced brand new. except for nuts n bolts

Body – Rust cut out of drivers floor and new floor pan installed by coach builder. before car was resprayed in 2007. Needed minimal bog. was a very straight car. and has very minor surface rust in a few panel joins. New seals on every opening.
SubFrames – Both stripped down. front frame seam welded to strengthen up. painted. and all bushes replaced when attaching to body
Brakes - Drums. Shoes. Cylinders & Bearings all round
Suspension – Rubber Cones. Shocks and Bushes all round. Knuckle & Seats. Adjustable Hi-Los in Front
Gearbox – Original box. inspected with damaged laygear shaft and bearings replaced.
Engine Bay – Original Engine rebuilt. stroked and bored (Minisport tell me it would be 1120cc now). original head swapped out for a minisport unleaded rebuilt head. Delortto twin 45mm carby. Electronic programmable dissy and new coil. new radiator and fan. all hoses etc. starter motor is near new. alternator rebuilt. HD Clutch installed.
Electrical – Electronic fuel pump. CD Player with 6x9s in boxes. Headlights upgraded to H4. Gauges all work accurately.
Interior – New carpet. including in the cargo area. New hood lining. Just needs seats and door cards retrimmed to grey and it would be finished inside. Windows already tinted. Heater box core replaced.

This car runs. and can be driven onto a trailer. or on the road.

I will have a bundle of receipts to supply the new owner. potentially every single one. but some may have been misplaced. The car has also been tuned on a dyno with carby jets adjusted. and I should have that readout somewhere hopefully.
