Rick Stevens founded Kougar Cars in 1979. although the first
(approximately 30) cars were marketed by a company called Storcourt
Wells Ltd. He built the prototype in 1976 which incorporated an
aluminium body. all the other cars have a fibreglass
bodyshell. Rick's inspiration for the Kougar originated in
his ownership of a Jaguar S-Type saloon but recognised that it had
a scrap value of only £100 to £200. He also realised that a first
class sports car could be made by connecting the heavy lumps of the
Jaguar together with a simple light weight body and chassis unit.
The sports car design was not directly inspired by any particular
vehicle but he admitted to having a certain fondness for the Frazer
Nash TT replica and the Healey Silverstone.

This Kougar Jaguar Sports Mk. II was purchased by the vendor in
July 1999 and has only been used sparingly while in his ownership.
It has only covered 8. 00 miles since it was built in 1984 by an
engineer. Mr Christopher Rees who used the 3. 8 litre engine and
manual (with overdrive) gearbox from a 1965 Jaguar S-Type. Built to
the highest of standards. this car has been fully maintained since
being built and was repainted by the previous owner in 1998. More
recently. the current owner has had the Spax front shock absorbers
replaced and a high pressure fuel pump and Kenlow fan fitted.
Finished in the Rover colour 'night watch blue' with blue leather
interior. black tonneaw cover. black soft top and side screens. br/>this Kougar is supplied with a V5C registration document. an MoT
test certificate which expires in November 2014. an original sales
brochure. a number of Kougar Club magazines going back to 1997 and
a file containing invoices. photographs and wiring diagrams. Please
note that the registration document shows that the manufacture of
the car is listed as Kougar and not Jaguar. This is a real head
turner and a great fun car to drive. ideal for the summer.
