The Jensen Interceptor is a sporting GT-class car that was
hand-built at the Kelvin Way Factory near Birmingham between 1966
and 1976. Jensen had extensively used glass-reinforced plastic for
the fabrication of body panels in the preceding two decades but the
new Interceptor saw a return to a steel body-shell designed by an
outside firm. Carrozzeria Touring of Italy. The early bodies were
Italian-built by Vignale before production by Jensen themselves in
West Bromwich began; with subtle body modifications. The
Interceptor took its styling cues from the Brasinca Uirapuru. with
a distinctive large. curving wraparound rear window that doubled as
a tailgate. The original specification included electric windows. br/>reclining front seats. a wood rimmed steering wheel. radio with
twin speakers. reversing lights and an electric clock. Power
steering was included as standard from September 1968.

New to the market. this 7200cc V8 Jensen Interceptor Convertible
presented in Royal Blue with blue leather interior was first
registered in San Francisco. California on 5th August 1977 having
been built by Jensen in 1974. This much loved and very well cared
for car is in wonderful condition and has covered just 57. 00
miles. most of which were in the dry climate of America's West
Coast.
Present within the history file is photographic evidence along
with an engineer's report carried out on the car in 2004 after its
restoration undertaken by its 3rd Owner from Canada. The car had a
full bare-metal re-spray along with much upgrading and
refurbishment at a figure approaching $40. 00. with much of this
work carried out by Jensen specialist K & D Enterprises of
Washington. In 2011 and in the ownership of the current vendor the
Interior was completely re-trimmed with blue leather and deep blue
Wilton carpet by the highly regarded Jensen Specialist 'Rejen' of
Winchester. it is in excellent condition and has its matching
tonneau cover with new electric hood.

Benefitting from an extensive service history detailing the
car`s complete history from day one and a document compiled by
Richard Calver. the author of 'A History of Jensen-Chassis Data'
which makes for very good reading and details the Jensen's five
previous owners. 1st Owner. Doctor E Braby - California 1977-1998.
2nd Owner. Mr S Armarnini - California 1998-2003. 3rd Owner. Doctor
M H Elliot - BC Canada 2003-2006. 4th Owner - Belgium 2006-2009 and
of course the current vendor who describes this car as ready to
"drive anywhere" with the last service was carried out by the
established and well known Jensen Specialist 'Rejen' of Winchester
at 57. 86 Miles on 20th May 2014.

As a testament to the quality of this example. at the Jensen
Owners Club Concours d`Elegance in June 2013. this Jensen was
placed 3rd in the Silver Competition with the certificate included
in the history file. Only 267 Convertibles were ever made making
such a car in this condition a treat and with the hood down the
driving experience is frankly a delight.
