The Shelby Mustang is a high performance variant of the Ford
Mustang which was built by Shelby American from 1965 through to
1970. From 1967. the GT350 carried over the K-Code high performance
289ci with a 'COBRA' aluminium hi-rise. The GT500 was then added to
the line-up. These later cars carried over few of the performance
modifications of the 1965/66 GT350s although they did feature more
cosmetic changes. In September 1967. production was moved to the
A. O. Smith Company of Ionia. Michigan under Ford control.
Immortalised in the film 'Gone in 60 Seconds' from 2000 starring
Nicholas Cage. the Shelby Mustang known as 'Eleanor' was the
ultimate steal for Cage who played a retired professional car thief
forced back to work after his younger brother had upset his
unfriendly employer. Based on the 1967 Shelby GT500 fastback. the
'Eleanor' was a modernised variant with serious power and is
considered by many to be the ultimate Mustang.

What can only be described as a fabulous example and finished to a
very high standard. this GT500 recreation is based on a 1968 390GT
Mustang that. if restored in its original guise. would be valued at
over £60. 00 alone. With this original S-Code 390 starting point. br/>confirmed by its accompanying Marti Report. and offering a 6. 4
litre Big Block V8 producing a dyno tested 450+ bhp coupled to a
TKO 600 five- speed gearbox. the rebuild had begun in a way that
excited its current vendor and mastermind behind this stunning
recreation. Having restored many American muscle cars and
originally earmarking the 390GT for a Bullet replica. the vendor
became increasingly frustrated by cheap body kitted examples of the
Eleanor on poor donor car's fitted with very little care and
attention referencing them as "all show and no go". His personal
challenge was to build the ultimate recreation offering a GT500
replica that sounded. looked. handled and impressed as it
should.

Amongst countless other upgrades included is a Control Freak
fully adjustable coilover system to the front suspension with
Heidts four- link with adjustable coilovers to the rear. helping
you stop are Willwood four piston calipers with drilled and slotted
rotors. We strongly advise viewing both the car and the history
file and believe this is amongst the best. if not. the best on the
market today. One of the most iconic cars in movie history
offered in such spectacular form this Mustang has the GO BABY
GO!
