1969. 5 Road Runner. Fresh off 3 year restoration. ~After reading the entire description. feel free to make an offer~Body numbers match; radiator support. VIN on dash. & trunk lip. Car has original sheet metal. quarters. nbsp;fenders. doors. roof. etc. Never crashed. Radio. heater.  No P/S. no P/B. All muscle. Fairly complete title history. done back in the days you could get data like that. This is a Go Mango [K2] orange from factory. not red.  Go Mango is an unusual [rare] color to find on an M code or Superbird. both built at Lynch Road. Although the mileage in the 30's is correct. the car lost it's engine early on. Sold new in Miami. selling Dealer Howard Ayres Chrysler Plymouth on Flagler street. Soon after delivery the cam gear let loose and the valves all crashed.  From what I understand from Mopar history. without the heavy rods. these early 440+6 cars were built with the single bolt cam gear. After a ton of them failed. bolt broke and pin sheared. it wasn't until mid 1970 they figured it out. and began using three bolts on cam gears. just like all HEMI. Problem solved. although the problem was prevalent into the 1970 model year. They also went to the heavy rods to slow down the reciprocating parts. They would no longer 'wing' so quickly and cause damage. In any event. a warrantee block was fitted at Howard Ayres. They retained the original heads up. manifolds including aluminum intake all the way to the hat.  By 1975 the car was on it's third owner. who paid a whopping 650 dollars for it. soon a similar mechanical ill forced it off the road. The gas wars were over by then. gone were the days of gas wars where Shell would pass out drinking glasses and silverware. 17. 9 cents a gallon when this car was born. Soon. circa 1972 lines to gas up were around the block. There existed no interest in a car with the biggest engine Chrysler built. with THREE carburetors on top to boot! The poor car sat covered inside. untouched. Fast forward 35 years. at this stage the car had been gutted. it was a shell. Every part carefully wrapped and labelled. NOS parts by the ton were collected to do the car up. Now is when the flipping game began. Next owner flipped for a quick buck. then again then again. everyone making a buck. parts got lost or sold off. the parts were scattered everywhere. First flip was 650 bucks. next flip was 10 grand. next flip 12 grand. next flip 17. etc. Nobody kept it more than a year. and each had high aspirations of a hundred thousand dollar live auction A12 car. Heres what you can [now] expect: Period correct block. HP2. The original born with D21 transmission & Dana. Original restored interior. logo on the back seat. it's a deluxe interior car. Born with 012 HEMI radiator. and [4] restored original 'H' Wheels somehow survived. Restoration pictures. Floors original and rust free. you can jump up and down on the floors & trunk.  Lots of receipts. in fact 38 grand was put into the car in the last 2 years alone. The born with hood had to be stripped & shot multiple times to get the lacquer organisol hood treatment right. at 150 bucks a quart. times three. It hasn't been an easy [or cheap] restoration. it sat at a body shop almost a year. month after month. they lost interest. and they lost the bumpers. it sat at another body shop. they did very little. it went to a third where they just took money. that shop went belly up year before last and the car had to be collected again and it would. you guessed it. sit dormant. That owner had enough at that stage. the car was becoming a money pit. and apparently would never come to fruition. He sold it out of his back yard. So. it's been a roller coaster of a ride. Finally the day came recently. it's finished. The new exhaust with Flowmasters is awesome. the reflective side stripe was just put on a week ago. after the final wet sand/buff. Twice to the alignment shop. drives true now.  Another Go Mango car. identical to this one. K2 D21 Deluxe interior RM23 Hardtop. warrantee block crossed the Barrett Jackson block 6 months ago. SOLD. 105. 00. 00 PLUS FEES 10%. Look it up. I'm sure the color had a lot to do with it. So. there you have it. Trades maybe. up down sideways. but please. no more Brooklyn Bridges. no gold. boats trains or planes.  If you don't like the price. make a reasonable offer. The key is. again. 'reasonable' offer. I have no problem keeping it. Poor car hasn't been driven under it's own power IN 40 YEARS. it's a ball to drive & it's DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.
