1974 Toyota Land Cruiser  FJ40

This is a great truck. ready for daily driving. off road adventures or both!

Soft top only. no hard top on this one. it was sold before I got it!

A series of major and minor upgrades make this truck unique.

 No Chevy 350 drop in here. the original Toyota inline 6 cylinder “F” engine is in place.   Mods to the engine include electric fuel pump. electronic ignition. exhaust headers. Weber 38/38 carburetor. electric cooling fan and a new radiator.   All new plugs. wires. cap and rotor.   All hoses replaced. all gaskets replaced except those that required completely rebuilding the engine.   New oil pan. Compression is good across all cylinders.

Front End:  Big upgrade here is power steering! Makes driving a pleasure especially since the front axles have been rebuilt back to and including the Knuckles! Every bearing. Heavy Duty Tie Rods and new Tie Rod Ends.   All new Warn locking hubs. The other big upgrade here is disc brake conversion to all 4 wheels!  This is a high performance upgrade from Wilwood. this  upgrade alone makes this truck perform like no other.   Front mounted Warn Winch on new clipped end front bumper.

Suspension:  Black Diamond performance shocks and heavy duty springs with a 4” lift kit.   Wheels were pushed out an inch all around.   60” high lift jack included with lock.

Interior:  Previous owner had the whole thing rhino lined inside.   All new correct vinyl upholstery with new seat cushions and rebuilt seat backs in the front including headrests and sun visors.   Rear jump seats have all new foam and correct new vinyl.   Shoulder belts in front and lap belts in back.   Grant leather and chrome steering wheel. Large locking center console. Passenger side grab handle.   Gauges are all correct. ammeter doesn't work. Speedo works but needs a new plastic gear at the transmission end of the cable (cable is new).   AM/FM/CD with 2 rear and 1 front all weather speaker.   Weather resistant new fuse block with entire replacement of the wiring harness!

Body:  Previous owner had all new front end steel (hood. fenders. front bib etc).   He had the rest of the tub oslo coated (stops any rust) and aluminum cladding done.   New rear tailgate.   Good paint. some minimal scratches from use!  New windshield and rubber surround.  Door hardware replaced where necessary. new window tracks.   Large mirrors on both sides.   Windshield wipers and washer! work. New front bumper and rear bumperettes.   Tow setup with wiring.

Drivetrain:   This is a factory correct 4 speed. All new gaskets front and rear ends with new fill and drain plugs all around.   Brand new clutch with all new hydraulics at both ends.   Emergency/parking brake rebuilt with new shoes/springs etc. Transmission and transfer case all work appropriately.

What doesn't work?:  Ammeter. speedo needs new gear at the transmission (easy fix). heater has been disconnected and don't know it's status but the fan works.
