Chrysler : 300 Series 2-door couple K-code Letter Car for sale
Current customer rating: (333 votes ) based on1964 Chrysler 300K “Letter Car” Highly Original. Excellent
If you're reading this. you probably already know what Chrysler Letter Cars are all about. So. I'll skip the chronological history and get right to the year in question: A complete redesign of the legendary Chrysler Letter Cars by Virgil Exner arrived in 1963. stressing "a crisp. clean custom look. " The300 letter-series was the cleanest of the range. with a blacked-out grille and elegant sides.
This magnificent K Car is largely unrestored and retains most of its original paint. its original interior. carpets. headliner. door panels. trunk trim. drivetrain. all chrome. glass. stainless. etc. It is loaded with options. such as Power Steering. Power Brakes. Power Windows. Air Conditioning w/Tinted Glass all around. Golden Tone Radio with Rear Speakers. Center Console with Vacuum Gauge. Genuine Leather Trim. Reclining Passenger Seat. Padded Upper and Lower Dash. Seat Belts. Rear Window Defogger. Heavy Duty Springs. Shocks and Swaybar.
The dash and door panels are immaculate. no pits or damage. all the painted and shiny bits are pit- and scratch-free. The padding is perfect on both top and lower sections. There is one significant upgrade: Four-wheel Disc Brakes. This expensive. professionally installed conversion lends the K the stopping power needed to slow down a massive car with this much power. (She hauls!) The acceleration is phenomenal for a car of this size.
Everything works perfectly. even the AC blows ice cold. the Golden Tone radio plays. all instruments work as does the console mounted vacuum gauge. etc. The square steering wheel has no cracks or blemishes. The headliner and its chrome bars are beautiful; the tinted glass is all original and flawless. the trunk has all its original carpeting and liner boards are in perfect shape. The leather has no tears or separations; the engine compartment is unmolested and immaculate. The car received some touch up paint during its sheltered life. but other than a few minor scratches over time. it appears very original. This is truly a “survivor”. and I am not using the word as an excuse for dilapidated. The car is a show-stopper. and of genuine collector quality. It was owned for many years by a very serious collector of limited production. full-sized muscle cars. and only came into my possession through a trade.
There is no substitute for the quality. mass. ride comfort. style and performance of big muscle cars. Accurate automotive history tells us that the only true muscle cars were these full-size automobiles. GTOs. Chevelles. Mustangs. etc. are either Pony Cars or Intermediates. Until you driven full-size muscle. you won't know what you've been missing. One more thing: you won't see yourself coming and going. (Others will just see you going. )
