Oldsmobile : Other Starfire

1964 Oldsmobile Starfire. Holiday Red w/ Black Leather.

Two owner California car since new. Originally purchased on 2/17/64 at Graydon Murphy Oldsmobile (Ontario. Ca. ) by a gentleman from Yucca Valley. Absolutely (zero) rust anywhere on the car. and it has never been in an accident.  The car has several nice features. (some standard on the Starfire) a/c. power steering. power brakes. power windows. deluxe steering wheel. Wonderbar am radio (with foot switch). rear seat speaker. tilt wheel. tinted glass. remote mirror. cornering lamps. seat belts. wire wheel covers. and body side moldings. I do have the Original Oldsmobile Protection Plan for the car (protect-o-plate).

When I bought the car had it been sitting almost 20 years. I got the car running again. and it runs well (full compression) with no lifter noise or smoke. I have rebuilt the carburetor. and fuel pump. replaced all the rubber fuel lines. tuned it up. flushed the cooling system. and changed the fluids. Belts/hoses should be replaced before driving the car long distance. The front end is nice and tight. The brakes are good. transmission shifts up/down. and the tires are new. Almost everything works including the interior/exterior/dash lights. fuel gauge. tach. and horn. The following items do not: a/c (compressor is in the trunk. condition unknown). radio powers up. and hums. and two rear quarter windows are in-op.

Floors and trunk are perfect (floors still have factory markings). Chrome is nice. Obviously the car needs paint. and weather stripping. The interior needs some updating. rear seat recovered. new carpet. a package tray. and kick panels (headliner. and door panels are nice). Small dent in rear quarter (just above the rocker molding) where it meets the bumper. None of the glass is cracked (including the windshield). The deluxe steering wheel is in great shape for its age. You could just add carpet. and leave the rest alone. Why chase rust. Pics show everything. nothing mentioned here would be uncommon for a 50 year old survivor.
