Purchased three years ago . Elmo was one of the most original & complete unmolested 8 seater microbuses I had come across.
I now have three vehicles . and sadly hard choices have needed to be made & so Elmo is on the market.
The duco is the original color being Dulux VW Citrus Red. Elmo was resprayed nine years ago & still looks amazing.
The only things I have added is electronic ignition as well as "eyelids". sun visor & vintage roof racks for that retro look.
Also. I had pure lambswool seat covers tailor made to fit Elmo's two front seats at $330 each ( $660 total) at " Airfleece" here in Adelaide.
To say that Elmo gets lots of attention wherever he goes is an understatement!

Since owning Elmo. I have only had him serviced & maintained at GHR Motors which are VW specialists here in Adelaide.
If you want to know much more about Elmo than I could possibly tell you. call Ziggy & Steve at GHR & they will give you an honest appraisal.

There are tons of receipts/ paperwork from throughout Elmo's life. all of which was spent in Sydney previous to my ownership.

For instance :
Huge amounts of receipts for work carried out from kruizinwagon INDIAN AUTOMOTIVE in Sydney.

There is a receipt for a complete new clutch assembly in 2005 at a cost of $962. 54

There is a receipt for the Mongoose car alarm & immobilizer fitted in 2003 at a cost of $681. 82

From the previous owner I learn't that the twin carburettors were rebuilt at Wayne Penrose VW in Sydney but I can not find the paperwork for it.

I know I have somewhere the NSW number plates ELM- 075 that were on the vehicle when I purchased it.
But a house move in the last 12 months has put those number plates in the "somewhere" category.

* BY THE WAY . . . when I had Elmo transported from Sydney to Adelaide . the cost was $500 door to door . . . it was that easy!
I just looked on the internet & asked for quotes.

*** I am amazed at the rusted out. panel damaged. interior duco trashed . sun faded . cracked dashed. examples of bay windows kombis that people are paying $10. 00 + here on ebay .
HERE IS AN EXCELLENT KOMBI IN OUTSTANDING UNMOLESTED ORIGINAL CONDITION with nothing more to spend apart from the routine mechanics . . . below the cost of it's real value!!!
