FOR SALE: An original bastion of British automotive heritage.

This is a lovely original MGB dutifully and lovingly cared for by it's 3 previous owners. This is a very presentable example of one of the original British sports cars – the paint work retains a deep consistent shine and looks spectacular under our showroom lights. The complimenting chrome work is also in excellent order with the front bumper. mirrors. front grille. headlamp surrounds. wipers and front sill vent all free from any clouding or pitting – it is only the near side rear bumper support that shows some surface imperfections. Our preparation team had a good look underneath and are happy to report that all perishables remain structurally sound with no wear or corrosion. and both the arches and chassis rails straight and correct.

The car also benefits from a brand new foldaway hood and a new battery utilizing the original 2 x 6v wiring.

The interior retains all original additions – wheel. gear knob and the all important radio unit. The seats are in fantastic condition with excellent structural integrity – the only small blemish to report is on the red piping low down on the seat backs on both driver and passenger sides. The door cards are in impeccable condition and dials read and work as they should with excellent brightwork. An important addition is an adjustable switch for a kenlowe fan (‘auto' or ‘on') that sits on the near side under the dash.

The boot area houses the spare wheel. jack and all tools are present and correct.

The engine starts on the button and idles smoothly and quietly. There is no trouble engaging gear from cold – the gearbox feels tight and precise with that superb ‘bolt-action' throw. The overdrive works exactly as it should providing more relaxed cruising in 2rd and 4th gear. Recent work includes the aforementioned kenlowe fan. refurbished head. distributor and fuel pump.

The car has a genuine set of 14″ wire wheels in original condition. proudly sporting period Camac SC70 radial tyres with plenty of tread. The brakes have been subject to a recent overhaul. inclusive of wheel cylinders and master cylinder. and pull the car up with no adverse pitch or pull.

The ownership intervals point to a car that has been clearly cherished since it rolled off the production line in 1966. The car has covered a mere 10k miles in 20+ years and it's condition is a testament to it's 3 previous owner's care and attention. There is a folder full of mot certificates dating back to 1991 and a brimming folder full of service invoices inclusive of the top end renewal in 2004. There is also important paperwork pertaining to preventative maintenance with new hardware inclusive of windscreen. brakes and exhaust.

A wonderful period handbook ‘Superlative MGB' accompanies the history file.

The MGB has always been in the hearts and minds of the British motoring public and this example is in wonderful original condition. on the button and ready to go.
