Pontiac : Other Base

Up for auction is our ultra-low mileage 58 Pontiac Super Chief.   This Survivor is in incredible condition for a 56 year old car.    The original owner kept the car for 50+ years and only accumulated 20. 00 miles until it was purchased by a collector.    It has been in Denver since and has never been offered nationally for sale until now.   Original cars are getting difficult to find and are so much nicer to drive then restored cars.   Seems like original materials and parts work nicer than reproduction parts giving original cars a better overall feel.

This Super Chief maintains its original paint and interior.   The body is very straight with no dings or scratches.   The paint has been very well maintained and shines well. the trunk lid of the car was previously scratched and has been re-sprayed with a perfect color match .   All of the stainless trim is beautiful with no blemishes along with all of the chrome plating.   Even the plated pot metal trim parts are perfect with no pitting.   Most impressive. is the intricate front grill and its condition.   It is simply beautiful alongside of its original T-3 headlamps and all of that chrome.   The original color coded wheels and hub caps are also in near new condition and look great going down the road.   The wide whitewall radial tires are in great shape and offer a smooth and quiet ride. while the original bias ply spare is still in the trunk.

The interior is stunning.   The seats are all original with no fading or stains.   The carpet is original and very nice but not perfect.   The dash is beautiful and absolutely perfect.   The gauges all work and are crystal clear.   All of the chrome trim is perfect with no pits.   All of the switches have a crisp feel and work like new.   The steering wheel looks like it was just installed at the factory. The door panels and headliner are as expected. perfect.    All of the glass is original and perfect with LOF markings and dates.  

Under the hood is like the rest of the car. beautiful.   All original  unrestored showing only light wear.   All of the cadmium plated hardware is still bright.   The original glass washer reservoir is in place.   The firewall still looks fresh and has white chalk numbers on it from the assembly line.   The engine is all original paint that still looks good.  The mechanical side of the engine and drive train is perfect.   The engine runs smooth and quiet with NO major leaks.   The transmission is also smooth and shifts like it did when it was new. It was recently removed due to a front seal leak. it was completely gone through with all new wear items and seals.   The transmission technician said it looked new inside but the seals were dried out from sitting.    The power steering and power brakes make it a breeze to drive.   As reliable as this car is. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country.

The undercarriage is very clean and looks nice.   It was undercoated when it was new and there is absolutely no rust anywhere on this car!  It is 100% rust free and solid.   All four spiral shocks are in place and work like new.   This car from underneath looks like 20. 00 miles.
