Cadillac : Other Series 62

This is my 1949 Cadillac 62 Series 2 owner car that we have owned since 1982. This is a non smoking and moth ball free car. It smells super inside just like a 1949 Cadillac smells like in the day. This beauty only has 61. 00 original miles and is solid as a rock!! The entire time we have owned the car it was stored in climate control. We would take this beauty to Cadillac Shows with friends that also had older Cadillacs. Every year it was driven enough to keep it fresh but not too much so the miles remain low. This car is still a 6 volt system and starts up with a turn of the key and a push of a button. It can be hot or cold it loves to start right up. I put a brand new 6 volt battery in to ensure a perfect delivery to you. A bit of history on this one: We purchased this Cadillac in a Kruze Auction in Syracuse NY. The car was said to have had a restoration of the mechanics and interior as well as a paint job. When they did the paint job back then the car was stripped to bare metal we were told. They did a very nice job and the car has been a joy. The motor runs as new. Stays cool. no knocks. ticks or pings. The transmission is a 4 speed automatic transmission that shifts beautifully in all gears. This car even has a blower motor (heater of the time) that was an optional extra back in it's day. The brakes are 4 wheel drum brakes with plenty of shoe left. It tends to move about a little when the brakes are applied as if the brakes are getting uneven pressure common with older brake hoses. The steering is tight and precise as it should be. It has new condition Silverstone tires that are in MINT condition. It helps this car steer and ride smooth down the road. The car can keep up with modern day drivers because it features a over head valve 331 cubic inch 5. 4 liter 8 cylinder that produces 160 horse power. This was one of the first cars to achieve Motor Trends Car of the Year. The paint is jet black and it has specks where the paint has lifted off the metal and chipped. These have been touched up with a touch up brush through the years as more appeared. The chrome and stainless steel trim are above adverage condition as you will see. The beautiful hood ornament is really stunning. Words can not explain the feeling you get driving this beauty. Majestic is always what we say when we drive it or even see the car. The windows all go up and down. The wing window on the drivers side does not crank open but it does push open. The windshields. and rear 3 windows are free of cracks or stone chips. The locks do work on the car. The speedometer and odometer work as well as the gauges. I am not sure about the radio but there was tape on it from when the car was restored so it may work. The wipers. lights and turn signals function very well. The horn should work but I forgot to check. The emergency brake works great. The car is super solid. Always stored with care. Always covered and we used Decon mouse and rat pelets that kept the car from getting munched on in storage. The muffler is quiet but has some holes in the pipe in the back. I have another new muffler that will go with the car. The car has won some awards in the years and I will give you some of them. I even have some manual. books. and records showing some repairs over the years. Rebuilt generator. belt. new water pump. fuel pump. oil changes. new battery. new tires . ect. I have in my hand the transferable NYS registration that transfers ownership exactly as a title would in another state. Pre 1973 NYS cars have transferable Registrations. I am VERY familiar with Antique cars and have gone over this car and see NO evidence of damage that was repaired or replaced floors ect. The car is not perfect but always got 1-3 place in over 20 events in it's time. As years pass we are doing other activities and would like to pass this beauty on for somebody else to enjoy.
