Chevrolet Corvette 1979 2D Coupe 4 SP Auto 5 7L Carb in Port Melbourne, VIC

This classic American Muscle car was imported to Australia in 2013 in need of some detailed attention. This is where my story began. An initial inspection revealed the car was running on a solid chassis. totally free of rust. and was driven by a strong L48 350 Chev. paired with a 4 Speed Auto. My assumption is someone swapped the stock 3sp for a 4sp for fuel economy somewhere along the way. On the outside. the body was in reasonably good. straight condition with minor flaws. but the interior was trashed.

An all new interior has been installed in Oyster White leather. and offset with black highlights (seat backs/buckets. centre console. park brake cover). Essentially. the whole interior is like a new car and new parts include:

Mechanically. this car is an ox. It has never broken down (driven most days) and the 350 is strong. It is an ideal cruiser. with good bottom end if required. Underneath is where the most of the work has been completed and this is why the car drives so well. Work done includes:

Other things of note regarding the vehicle include the following:
Cruise Control installed. not commissionedAircon installed. needs new A/c Compressor Hose. Will work well when replaced. All gauges work well - Clock recently stopped. but will be basic wiring issue. Badges and Taillight chrome trim has been Plasti-dipped in Matt Black. This is a protective rubber coating which may be easily peeled off if the "unique" look is not appealing. Has Custom Number Plate - 79 CORV which can be part of a deal. Exterior body work is clean. but not perfect. Would benefit from minor work to bring up to show car condition. Full size spare wheel with brand new tyre.
The car has done approximately 10000kms since work was completed. and much of this has been long haul trips. It gets looks and attention wherever it goes. with plenty of comment on the engine note. With the T-Tops off. this is an amazing Summer car. There are spare parts to go along with the Corvette for the next owner who cherishes this piece of classic automotive history. Replacement/New parts are abundantly available making this type of car easy to maintain. I reluctantly need to sell the car to fund my next Corvette restoration. I'll happily share my experience and knowledge with any serious buyer. I will sell the car either with a RWC and Full VIC Registration. or happy to sell as is.
