I was a Car Crazy Sophomore in High School when these cars were new. This car is done EXACTLY the way we would have done it back in the day. The stance. the engine. the exhaust. the wheels. the tires and all…. EVERYTHING except the Reverberator on the factory AM radio ( don't know where you would find one of those today). Plus it has a few touches to bring it up to today's standards like the 400Turbohydramatic Transmission…. Yes an automatic. Back in the day we had fun with the 4-Speeds but even then we knew that if you actually wanted to WIN the Stop Light Drags you needed an automatic that didn't miss a gear.

This car belonged to my friend Dave's brother Dale and has been treated to a full. 4 year. Professional. Rotisserie Restoration. Before he could drive it very much Dale passed away. Dave then ended up buying it from his estate and also drove it very little for fear of messing something up

Earlier this year Dave came to me and indicated he wanted to sell the car. Little did he know that this car was very similar to the '67 Camaro SS I had so many. many years ago and I wouldn't be able to resist it's charm. This car was born a Plain Jane Camaro Coupe and upgraded to an RS/SS 350 Tribute car during the restoration.  It's been fun but now it is time to pass it on to you. THIS CAR IS STILL VERY. VERY FRESH !!!

Here are the details;

BODY- Straight and SOLID. NO RUST. This car has had the full treatment. NEW Fenders. NEW Inner Fenders. NEW Functional Cold Air Hood. NEW Doors. NEW Quarter Panels. NEW Inner and Outer Rocker Panels. NEW Full Floor Pans. NEW Trunk Floor. NEW Rear Panel. NEW Trunk Lid. Basically. I guess the Top and Cowl are about the extent of the original sheet metal parts. This was a pro job and not a pop riveted patch panel and putty job. The car looks GREAT and should stay looking great.

PAINT- Mile deep. wet look PPG Money Green Basecoat/Clearcoat Poly Urethane. Shiny and nice.  This is a modern. almost “Candy Looking” color that is similar to the Rally Green Metallic that some Camaros came with. The car was painted in pieces so the inner panels. cowl. firewall and so forth are all green. It is ridiculous to try to write a description like there is a chip on the left door 3" below the handle at a 49 degree angle. The car has been driven since completion and there are likely some minor chips and scuffs. She looks good and you will be proud of it.

ENGINE and TRANSMISSION- 355 Cubic Inch. 401. 7 HP with 408. 5 Foot Pounds of Torque Professionally built Small Block Chevrolet. Guess that explains the globs of molten rubber and asphalt on the Quarter Panel !!! You will get a copy of the engine shops Dyno Sheets to back this up. Healthy but street-able cam. 4 barrel  Holley on a Hi-rise. MSD Ignition. Chromed Headers with an H-Pipe going through Flow Master Type mufflers. THIS CAR SOUNDS TOUGH AND BACKS IT UP WITH TIRE BOILING PERFORMANCE. The throttle response is quick and positive. The engine is professionally built. clearanced to rev and sounds like what it is. As you can see the engine is well dressed with chrome and billet aluminum goodies. SHE LOOKS AS GOOD AS SHE RUNS. The Trans is a built 400 Turbo with a 2500 RPM Stall Torque Convertor. NEW Heavy Duty Radiator.  No cut corners.

INTERIOR and GLASS- EVERYTHING IS NEW. Aftermarket Buckets. Original style rear seat. Repro Panels. Headliner. Dash Pad and Carpet. Interior is BLACK…. for some reason pictures look sort of charcoal. Driver's seat has minor scuff marks on lowers side bolster. GLASS IS NEW as are all the window seals. channels and fuzzies. NICE!

CHROME and TRIM- NEW.

SUSPENSION- NEW. New Springs. Ball-joints. Bushings. shocks etc. NEW POWER STEERING AND POWER DISC BRAKES. No corners cut here. DRIVES GREAT !!!

WHEELS and TIRES- FIVEAluminum Torque Thrust wheels with Cooper Radials. How many guys put a matching wheel and tire in the trunk for a spare ????

OTHER STUFF- This is a well done. NO EXPENSE SPARED. restored car. The Gauges gauge. The wipers wipe. The horn toots. The Radio plays. THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE SPARE TIRE. Basically these guys took the Camaro Catalog and ordered everything NEW. We have a folder full of build receipts and a Photo Album full of build progress pictures from start to finish that will come with the car. This is a NICE car !!!!

No. There is no such thing as a perfect car !!!
