This auction is a tough one for me. It's a 1947 Pontiac that my Dad and I bought to restore. he passed away. and I can't bring myself to finish it. I'm going to tell you straight out. I have way more in this car than I'm asking for it. I have close to $7. 00. 00 invested in it. and I'm listing it for well under that amount. Please read the ad completely. This car was purchased off ebay many years ago to restore.

I found it in Kansas and hauled it to Pa. There is no rot on this car and very minimal surface rust. There is one dent behind the driver side rear door. The chrome has some minor rust here and there. There is no scale. and no pitting. I think with a good polish and some work. it will look fine. The paint is original. and I was going to let it that way. There are scratches and missing paint here and there. but you can't beat the look of it. A good waxing and that car would shine nice. Every pan and piece of metal is solid. the car has absolutely no rot anywhere. The passenger side hood hinge is broken and does need fixed. The tires. are really old but still hold air. I would replace them after the restoration is complete. The exhaust is good. but the tailpipe is shot. It did run and drive before I pulled the wiring to replace it.  It was really cool to drive it around a few times before we started working on it. The engine will crank but not fire due to the wiring not being hooked up. I have all kinds of service manuals and parts manuals for this car.

This is what is done so far:

Carburetor. is rebuilt. The master cylinder is new and the wheel cylinders were either rebuilt or replaced. some couldn't be rebuilt. All brake lines are new. and brakes were relined. When I pulled the wiring. I pulled all of the interior trim and sent it to be repainted. That way when the wiring was done. I would be finished with the dash and wouldn't have to pull it again. I had it painted as close to the original color as I could get. The new 6 volt wiring is run. but not hooked up. There is a new 6 volt battery. The wiring and battery alone cost well over $2. 00. 00

This is what it still needs:

The wiring hooked up. The interior needs redone. It was home to critters for many years when it was stored in that Kansas barn. It also needs tires and the exhaust worked on. I was told by the place that was going to the upholstery. that it would cost me around $2. 00 to have it all done. I would guess you will spend around $4. 00 to have someone finish this car for you. way less if you do it yourself.

You are more than welcome to come and look at it. Just email me and we will set up a day and time. This car did run and drive when the wiring was intact. Now that it is out. the car cranks. but does not fire. You can hear it turn over. to prove nothing is stuck.

You are buying this as is where is. There is NO warranty. I will NOT ship this vehicle. If you want it shipped. this is how it works: You pay for vehicle and after your payment clears. I will mail you the title. It will be filled out in your name and notarized. Then. you can make arrangements on your own to have someone pick it up and bring it to you. The vehicle DOES NOT leave my garage until you confirm via telephone call to me that you received the title. I'm pretty easy to work with. I just don't want to get burned.
