Would you buy a car on eBay with four pictures and one paragraph of description? NO.
That is why at Classic Cars Online our listings will go over and show every area of the vehicle that is up for sale. Body & Paint:
The vehicle is finished in its original color. "Pimento Red" (Paint Code: 72) It was repainted at one time. The paint is in nice condition. but could use a quick wet sanding and buffing to make it pop again. Unsure of the paint type. There are no major dents. dings and scratches in the body. It does have the typical nick and chip here and there that can be easly touched up. The front parking light lens does have a crack in it. Convertible Top:
The black vinyl convertible top was replaced at one time also. It is in very nice condition without any rips or holes. The rear window is nice and not discolored or fogging. It does have a few of the typical scratches. The black vinyl boot also goes along with the vehicle. Chrome & Trim:
The chrome and trim pieces still look to be original. The chrome bumpers are OK. but are starting to show their age a little. The rear is just starting to show some minor pitting in a few areas. The rear bumper is also missing the chrome license plate lamp assembly. (This assembly may be with all the other extra parts that will go along with the vehicle. ) The stainless steel trim moldings are all in place. A few of them have a ding or two in them that will need some attention to make them look new again. Interior:
The black vinyl interior is in very nice shape. (Trim Code: "11" Black) The seats do not have any rips. holes. tears. loose seams or marks on them. The door panels also look as good with no problems. The black carpet is clean and is not faded. The dash area looks great with the Walnut trim that is in great condition. The gauges are all working and look new. The AM/FM/Cassette radio is also in working order. Glass:
All of the glass pieces are in great shape. No cracks or major chips. The windshield does have a few of the typical stone nicks. The side windows roll up and down without any problems. Wheels & Tires:
The vehicle has the correct factory wheels installed. These 15 inch steel wheels are painted silver with the black TR6 center caps. Stainless steel beauty trim rings are also installed. All four are in nice shape. Mounted on these wheels are four newer Yokohama P205/70R15 tires. Trunk:
The trunk area is clean and rust free. A full size spare tire with the correct rim sits in its storage area. The jack and jacking tools are in a Triumph bag. The trunk does have a carpeted floor mat. The original trunk light bulb and lens are missing from the rear panel divider. Engine Compartment:
Under the hood sits the original 2. 5 litre 6 cylinder engine that has been verified via the stamped engine number on the block. The compartment is very clean and highly detailed. It still retains the factory stock look right down to the correct dual Stromberg carburetors and the OEM style green heater/radiator hoses. Bolted to the original power plant is an updated 5 speed manual synchromesh gearbox. The engine runs and sounds great. It doesn't leak or burn any oil. The gears shifts smoothly without any known problems. Frame & Chassis:
The underside is clean. No signs of any major rust or past rust repairs. This is a low mileage vehicle that was and only driven in nice weather. From the extra parts and items that were replaced/removed from the vehicle. it looks like most of the underside components were replaced. All of the suspension components. brake system items. and the exhaust system were all replaced. (Again. there are a lot of extra parts. some new. some old. that will go along with the vehicle. Will need a small pickup truck to take all of them home. Such as: Extra set of wheels/tires. suspension parts. rear differential. gauges. etc. ) It has a rack & pinion steering with independent front suspension. Vacuum assist brakes. Disc brakes in the front. drum brakes in the rear. The parking brake is currently not working.
Nine times out of ten. people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car. that is why there are a few pictures of the bottom in the photo gallery. Please view them all.
