Up for Auction I have a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach1 M code 4V 351 Automatic. If your looking for a great winter project that has all the hard work done then you have found it.
History:  I bought this car a couple years ago. It was a failed attempt at building a race car. The previous owner started to install rear wheel tubs and then gave up. I had planned on building it for my son but as the project progressed I just ended up putting more money and effort in the car (a bit much for a 16 year old lol). I dont need to sell it and if I dont get what I'm looking for then I will finish the car . Look at the Marti report in the pictures. it's a real deal 70 Mach1.
Body: First off we needed to fix the rear tub damage. Both rear quarters were replaced with full units. not the cheap skins. Obviously the wheel wells were cut up so they were both replaced . The rear body is original to the car. Both trunk floor pans were replaced. Rear rails are in good condition. Trunk lid is new. The roof was fine. The floor pans were usable but needed repairs here and there. In the end the floor was replaced with a one piece unit . new right torque box . The cowl was history (like most Mustangs ) so I had the cowl replaced with a one piece unit. I'm sure you know the new sheet metal was expensive . I didnt skimp on any of the parts. I also had the battery tray apron replaced . The hood looked great. new fenders and the doors had the lower sections repaired (welded in patches). All work was done professionally. Then the car was completely cut-in with it's original Grabber Blue color. Currently the car is Epoxy primed and guide coated. It wont take much more work to get the car painted. The underside looks good. I had planned on cleaning up the rear rails and the rear end then painting the bottom. It will be a pretty easy job to detail out the bottom.
Interior: I bolted the interior back in the car but it will need to be redone. The headliner is new but the car will need a new dashpad. carpet. door panels and seat covers. I didnt get seats with the car but I bought a set of 70 high backs which are in decent condition. What you see is what I have. All glass is installed . please note  door glasses are 69 glue in style. I installed a 70 A/C dash since my plan was to put A/C in the car. It's not a big deal to remove it and change it  back to a standard dash ( the A/C dash has more value then the non-a/c dash). There is a place that needs to be cut out on the firewall to install the evaporator box which I havent done. The heater box is a non-A/C unit although I do have the correct A/C box included.
Drivetrain: The 351C in the car has 2V heads and an Edelbrock 4V intake . C6 trans . The motor ran when I bought it but plan on rebuilding it as well as the trans. I had planned on building a performance motor but for the sake of this sale I bolted it in the car along with the trans to help transportation or shipping. No driveshaft. The rear is the original unit (needs to be cleaned up ). the rear sway bar is still in the car. This car is a power steering car.
Feel free to call if you have questions. I'm sure you know the asking price is less than it cost me to have the metal work done with the purchase of all the new sheet metal. The hard work is done. 540-538-6302 cell
