Check out this 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer American Classic!  Get ready to regularly get thumbs up. smiles and people asking you questions when you're pumping gas or in the parking lot when you're driving this rarely seen beauty around town.
This model year is the 25th Anniversary Edition considered "best of the breed"and also the last model year developed under AMC.   This is also the hardest to find most popular color combination of navy blue exterior and tan leather interior.
These original SUV's were built tough and engineered to stand the test of time.   I'm not sure what top breed cows they sourced the leather from but it has worn with grace and looks great.   The stainless steel accents around the windows and doors still shine like they're fresh from the factory.   The chrome polished up beautifully all around and shines bright.
Add to it a powerful 5. 9L 360 V8 and the legendary Torqueflite 727 transmission and you've got a robust engine with a throaty growl paired with a well-engineered drivetrain for daily driving. towing or tackling the elements.

This is my daily driver to work and back but have found that it's not practical for everyday life with our young kids and car seats.   Believe me. it's painful to put this up for sale!

Here is a list of what has been performed on this vehicle:
full engine tune-up (spark plugs. distributor cap. wires. filter. new battery. new vacuum lines. carburetor and choke rebuild)fresh oil and filter and fresh transmission fluid and filterfresh differential fluid in both front and back
new windshield wipers
new gaskets (oil pain. transmission pan. oil pump. valve covers) = absolutely no leaks!new valve covers
brand new Hankook Optimo All-Season P235/75R15 with whitewalls and brand new Gorilla Lifetime chrome lug nuts
new brakes all around (all pads. rotors. drums and equipment)new window wipe strips replaced on all four doorsnew headlights and all exterior lights replaced if needed and in working ordernew locks for front/passenger doors with new keys

The mechanic that performed the full engine tune-up and brake job confirmed that: the compression in all 8 cylinders is strong and up to spec. the transmission is in great shape and the suspension is tight and the vehicle is in overall solid condition.

The engine idles smoothly once warm and the transmission shifts clean between gears.   Shifts effortlessly to 4WD w/ the flip of a switch under the dash and drops into 4WD Low with a pull of a lever under the seat.   The frame and undercarriage are in good condition.   The exhaust is in good condition.

The leather on the interior is in great shape (four small eraser size nicks in leather on back passenger side).   The woodgrain throughout interior of vehicle is in great shape.   Carpet is in great shape (some will need to be updated in trunk area - steel luggage bars are complete and in great shape).   Headliner does hang down in some areas and the new owner may want to have this redone (both the dome light and the cargo light in back work).    All doors open and shut with a satisfactory strong "click. " All windows work. door locks work and all switches that control them work.   Power seats work in all directions.   All door handles work well.   Heat works and AC blows but will need a recharge (has been retrofitted for R134).   All gauges work including the clock! (this is rare for these vehicles).   The dashboard does have a quarter size wear spot on the top not uncommon for the age of this vehicle.

The paint on the exterior is original and shows signs of wear appropriate for it's age (see pictures).   The woodgrain and wood trim are in good shape.   There is a small dent on the front driver side next to the headlight (see picture).   There is a small dent on the trunk along the woodgrain.   There is also a dent on the lower part of the body on the passenger side of the second row (see picture).   There is surface rust along the top of the rear quarter panel of the passenger side along the window.

Includes original owner's manual and jack to change tires.

This vehicle can be driven confidently as is without any additional work.   With a few inexpensive updates. this vehicle will only grow in value and will appraise for well above what it is bought for.   The Jeep Grand Wagoneer market is very strong right now and the demand for these vehicles will only grow with time as more and more collectors hold onto them and fewer and fewer come on the market - especially with a rare find like this one!  Get in now while the opportunity is still there!
