 Here is a very rare and collectible 1965 GTO number matching tripower 4speed close ratio 3. 90 posi rear end factory built car. Documented by Pontiac Historic Services this GTO came with the following options;
AM/FM radio (has am now) manual ant. . nstrument panel pad. mirror inside tilt. delux wheel discs. back up lights. verba-phonic speaker (reverb). courtesy lights. rally gauge cluster (tachometer. oil pressure and water temp. gauges) custom sports steering wheel (wood wheel). soft ray glass all around. 4spd. console. outside lh mirror. seat belts w/outboard retractor. sate-t-track rear axle (posi). 4speed sync. trans. tripower 360 h. p. WS code engine. next page is listed as "special equipment"  these options are listed; H. D. Fan (heave duty). metallic brake linings. nbsp; 4spd sync. close ratio 2. 20 to 1  and the 3. 90 posi rear end. The paint code is N which stands for burgundy and the interior is black. This GTO has a very nice body- no rust at all!!! Even the trunk is solid. The original WS 389 engine with the special #77 heads has been rebuilt. It runs great and sounds even better. Some upgrades were made including 4 tube headers. scatter shield. nbsp; solid gear to gear timing. remote oil filter. high energy ignition and a ratchet shifter. I have the original shifter. istributer. console. bell housing. and maybe the exhaust manifolds. heater box and the padded dash. The last owner changed the intake to a offenhauser with a holly carb. so the tripower setup is gone. This GTO was built in Fremont California and has spent its whole life in inside storage. never parked outside. It was repainted once -teal now and they painted over the window chrome trim. Fortunately it chips off easily! It was last registered in 1999- it runs and drives but the gas is very old and I do not want to run it on the old gas. If you want to come here to inspect it you are welcome to remove the fuel line from the fuel pump and to run it on a gas can that is fine with me. As you can see it has chevy rally wheels on it now and both door glasses have been changed to clear glass. I think I have both pieces of tinted glass here somewhere and I will try to find them before the end of this auction. Even though the interior is in fairly decent shape I have a totally complete brand new interior that comes with the car. I will list these extra parts- Remember this is no common GTO with a 4spd and a 3. 55 rear end. It is much more rare as not very many were built this way.  I jacked the rear end up yesterday to check out the ratio as someone asked me to. Good and bad news- Bad news is that it is a 3. 08 or a 3. 23 good news is that it is a 12 bolt heavy duty rear end. The gears are much better for actual driving conditions.
