Priced to sell *** No Reserve***

Sale price: $4,050.00 make an offer

Seller's notes: "'72 MGB that is a great driver. Lots of restoration including lead-free very recently rebuilt engine. Hums at 3000 RPMs, Idles great at 750 RPM. Price includes a near new Tonneau cover and the old SU carbs if you want to put them back on. I consider the mechanicals and the interior in great shape. The paint has great luster but some chips, some age, and some clear coat bubbles on hood (no change in 5 years...you have to get up close) Slight gapping at lower doors (see pics) where new sills and rocker panels were welded in...but doors close solid! If you want to win shows I would paint it and adjust the door sills. Great folding top and frame, windows clear! no yellow!"

Looking for a good home and someone who will continue to take care of  this '72B.  I must sell to make room for a new MGA.   I am pricing this to sell compared with others in similar condition. My reputation is much more important than a few  bucks so here goes.  I have owned this car for 10 years. I maintain it religiously with WAXOIL and fluids / adjustments up to date.  This is just a superb driver.

Here is what has been done in the last 6 months.

-Rebuilt Engine. hot tanked. crank ground with all new bearings. new oil pump. new camshaft. upgraded  hardened lifters. camshaft bearings. oil relief valve. seals. pilot bushing. new rings. cylinders honed and pistons knurled (better oil retention:-)

Compression 160+ all cylinders; Oil PSI is 50+ at idle and 75 at driving (oil relief valve works like a champ)

-new double row timing chain/ tensioner / gear; oil cooler purged and cleaned / new ground strap

-new clutch disc (throw out bearing / pressure plate were fine)

-Swapped a no-smog port head. head decked. shot peened. new exhaust valve steel inserts (lead free gas!). new guides. valves/seats reground

-new motor mounts both in front and transmission mounts

In last 6 years.

rebuilt suspension front and rear. new seat foams and new upholstery. carpeting replaced over sound deadening. new dash (soft. still like new. no tears). nbsp;brakes overhauled. rebuilding kits and replaced master cylinder

rebuilt carburetor

rebuilt clutch slave and master

replaced rear wiring  harness

solid state fuel pump

In last 10 years.

all rust cut out (it wasn't that bad but early rust just does not get better)  floor pans. rocker panels. castle rails. sills. dog legs and new Moss / VB panels welded in and double coated w/ galvanizing paint.   Slight gap at lower doors where sills could have been better approximated. (has been like that since. no problem. but doors close solid!  Painted with 3 coats BRG and 3 coats clear. If you want to show this as first class it will need new paint and readjust sills.

Transmission. never touched. other than oil change. shifts up and down no sweat all four gears; Drives shaft was overhauled and u-joint.

New windshield and all rubber seals on windows. door jambs. windshield. etc.

New radiator. new water pump. alternator rebuilt

Mechanically; . drives really great . fires right up. Has a Weber for easy tuning and reliability. but I will include the SU's in the price if you want to install them.

Interior. really nice basic black with  " like new" seats/panels/dash/carpet. I used faux lambs wool seat covers to keep it that way. nbsp; I will include them.

Convertible top in great shape. tri windows. all clear!   Tonneau cover is like new.

Good spare tire and original jack

All gages work. obviously the car has many. many  more than 23K miles.  all switches work. The brake test light has not been connected since I bought it.

The defroster knob works but needs a new set screw. it is loose.  The glove box is tricky to open and tricky to close. I leave it alone.

AM/FM CD player. It's "OK"  You will need an antenna for the radio.   Decent speakers in the doors.

If you have never owned a MGB then get used to the little leaks here and there.

Okay gang. this is a nice! chrome bumper 'B.    It is over 42 years old so it is sold AS IS. but the above is accurate to the best of my knowledge. Let me know if you do not get some compliments as soon as you take delivery. I'll send you 10% of the sale price. You trust me. so I trust you.

Buyer to pay for all shipping or local pick-up. I will help logistics on this end if you have it shipped.

I need a $500 PayPal deposit within 48 hrs of the sale. Then I expect the remainder of the sale price in-person or by cashier's check within  the next 7 days. Once cleared I will FEDEX you the title and await your pick-up/shipping.

If you have no or poor  feedback you need to contact me within 24 hours or I will cancel the bid and re-list.
