The XK-140 Jaguar roadster in this ad is not only visually voted one of the ten most beautiful European post-war sports cars ever designed but it has also been upgraded by its owner so that it is a full. reliable. comfortable and dependable tour car with such improvements as an upgraded larger Jaguar 3. 8 liter 220 bhp Jaguar MII engine.   Upgraded bucket leather seats (a Jaguar option).   A fabulous paint job in one of the most striking colors. Ecurie Ecosse (Scottish Flag Blue) a Jaguar LeMans racing team color.

Yes this is a car that has it all – design. road capabilities and charisma.   While this car looks like a first place winner and the upgrades are improvements for modern and fast highway speeds in a very comfortable manner.

The seller has told us that the car has been upgraded with a Jaguar 3. 8 liter 220 bhp Jaguar MII engine and is a strong engine with excellent oil pressure.   There are 67. 50 miles showing on odometer - actual unknown.   The seller has told us that this is a fun driver and he enjoys winning awards with the car at the British Car Club shows.   Original Body. nbsp;Chassis & Gearbox.  Original 4-speed transmission.

IMPROVEMENTS MADE OVER THE PAST TEN YEARS INCLUDE:

Painted Ecurie Ecosse (Scottish Flag Blue) a Jaguar LeMans racing color.

The seller has upgraded the Jaguar with a more powerful Jaguar 3. 8 liter 220 bhp Jaguar MII engine.  

New interior. cockpit and trunk.

Upgraded bucket seats done in gray leather (bucket seats were a Jaguar option).  

New Tonneau cover (no convertible top) that covers cockpit with a zipper to separate driver's seat from passenger seat.  

Upgraded with a Moto-Lita. the classic British 16” steering wheel and hub.

New brake shoes and wheel cylinders.

New gas tank. fuel pump and fuel lines.  

Carburetors professionally rebuilt.

New oil pump (Excellent oil pressure).

New wiring harness.

New Pertronix electronic ignition.

New wiper motor.

New horns.

New stainless steel exhaust system.

New electrical cooling fan.

It is interesting to note that the 1955 XK-140 has a much roomier cockpit then the XK-120.  Also the bucket seats help provide more space compared to the bench seats.  The seller said he appreciates the bucket seats when driving because he isn't sliding over to the passenger side the bucket seats keep him in the driver's seat.
