Launched in 1970. the Triumph Stag was a luxury Grand Tourer. Envisioned as a luxury sports car. it was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupés but for structural rigidity. and to meet new American rollover standards at the time. the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A removable hardtop was a popular factory option for the early Triumph Stags and was later supplied as standard equipment. A new 2. 5 litre V8 designed and developed by Triumph's Harry Webster was later enlarged to 2997cc. Most Stags were fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox. although manual gearboxes with over drive are highly desirable. electric windows. power steering and power-assisted brakes were fitted as standard. The Triumph Stag is well supported through various clubs and specialist suppliers.

This 1975 Stag offered in vibrant Java Green re-sprayed in 2013 with new black trim has covered just 66. 00 miles since new and has been subject to a recent restoration including importantly new timing chains. Having been registered and kept in the south of France for some 10 years this example is in very sound order with a reconditioned hood and new stainless steel exhaust system making we believe a very sound investment at this price. Unfortunately due to its last ownership in France their is little history with the car but as a restored model this retains less importance. A desirable manual with overdrive gearbox model offered with a valid MoT test certificate and in a stunning colour this is a great stag and well worth a viewing.

Having covered just 66. 00 miles the current vendor for whom we are selling on behalf has stressed that due to as previous customer wanting to tour this example across Europe he has ensured that this is a reliable and desirable car that would be a pleasure to own. Appointments are flexible so do please contact to discuss (email as a preference as I can answer anytime day or night for you)

The car is currently with our customer near Heathrow and viewing by appointment only. call 01753639170 or email mrp@historics. co. uk to arrange. unfortunately no hard top is available with the car.
