This '62 Corvette Roadster. Serial No. 20867S114531. is the final 1962 Chevrolet Corvette produced. the last C1 Corvette to have rolled off the production line. For the Stingray. Chevrolet made the switch to an independent rear axle. also making this the last solid-axle Corvette.
Restored in the mid-1990's. this Corvette has been in the care of the same owner for nearly half a century. He purchased the car on March 17. 1965 from Garrard-Milner Chevrolet in New Orleans. LA. paying $2. 50. 000 for what he thought would be "a fun summer toy". not even realizing it was the last of its kind. The car presents well in Tuxedo Black with a Fawn Beige colored interior. monochromatic coves. and beige soft top. It also comes with its factory original removable hardtop. which is un-restored. but complete.
