This is one of the classics from my 93 year old late great uncle's collection. Most of the historical information I mention will be what Ive been told by other members of our family. combined with documentation and what Ive experienced with it first hand recently.

My great aunt bought this car new when she got out of the air force in early 1967. She then moved to arizona shortly after buying the car. In the mid 80s she had the car repainted in its original red. and instead of having the black vinyl top replaced she had it painted white in imitation of 50s bel airs. She also had the crushed velvet put on the seats at that time. A few years later she moved back to iowa and parked the car for a new chevy citation.

In the early 90s her brother (Willard Mourer) bought the car from her and put it in his indoor collection where it sat until recently. You will notice in the pictures that included is the original window sticker. original bill of sale. and protect-o-plate with the Mourer name.

I recently bought the car when my great uncle passed away. Options include Power Steering. Power Disc Brakes. Tinted Windshield. 2 Speed Wipers. Bucket Seats with Strato-Headreasts. Console. and medium red interior which was only available with bucket seats. I hauled it to my shop. put it on my lift and dropped the gas tank first thing. but saw that nothing was needed. the sending unit and tank were still in nice clean condition. and the gas gauge works. I put in a new battery. plugs. points. wires and coil. I changed the oil and filter. checked the antifreeze. and tried starting it. It fired right up with no smoke. and no noises. Next I checked the brakes. and noticed the calipers were leaking so I replaced those. and the pads. and the rear shoes and hardware. The brakes are still a little spongy needing pumped a little when you first drive it. I assume they need bled again.

The car is a true pleasure to drive. very nice feel. I put new tires and reproduction wheels on it. I was told the drivetrain is all original and never been out of the car. The rear end is an open 10 bolt with 3. 08 ratio. The only thing that doesnt work on the car is the speaker. The radio lights up when you turn it on. but the speaker is rotted out so no sound. All other lights. gauges. wipers. etc work as they should. The doors and windows all open and close correctly.

The body is pretty solid due to spending most of its miles in arizona. There is a TINY bit of rust in the rear quarters. and a little in the trunk floor above the body mounts. but overall this car is 99% rust free.  The frame is very solid. and the floor pans. it looks like the car was undercoated. The original spare tire. jack and tools are still in the trunk.

The paint looks amazing from a little distance. but up close its in bad shape. The rockers are solid but have paint flaking. The car is still in great shape for being un-restored. I wouldnt hesitate to drive it anywhere.
