1976 Jeep Cherokee "S"

 NO RESERVE - 75 PHOTOS

Thank you. for checking out my 1976 Jeep Cherokee "S". this is a very Rare Rig. 2dr. Deluxe "S" Sport (Super Chief). this is a rare Wide Track Model. with factory steel fender flares. Highest engine option as well. the Z code 401 4bbl V8.   I know that the "S' Model is the top of the line for 1976. not all "S" models were Wide Tracks. some did not have the factory flares and suspension.   The Super Chief from my understanding. was the "S" model. which came as a Wide Track. with Flares.   I am not sure if they used the Super Chief name for 1976. but that is what people call them in general.   This is the top of the line for 1976. I can tell you that.   This out of all the vehicles that I have sold in the last year. and there has been some great ones. this is one of my favorites actually.   I love vehicles that you do not see that often. and this is that kind of rig.   I love vehicles that you can go out and actually use. with the family. vintage camp trailer puller. hunting. fishing etc.   This is what I would call a SURVIVOR. mostly original paint. original engine. original interior.   Very hard to find a Jeep Cherokee in this condition.   Please take a look at the photos and read the description. this is a great rig.    This Cherokee has had 2 owners from what the last owner told me.   It was female owned up until 2006. bought new here in Oregon from what the gentleman told me. down in Southern Oregon.   She decided to sell it. at that time it had about 95. 00 miles on it.   She used it to pull a small camping trailer from time to time.     Second owner got it in 2006. and used it for fishing and light camping.   This is one of those rigs that you do not come across that often. hard to find 2dr Cherokee's. especially the wide track. "S" model.   This vehicle has never been restored. this is what I would call a Survivor. it is wearing I would guess. about 85% of its original paint. engine has not been out of it from what I can see. interior is in great condition.   It has just been upkept through the years. and enjoyed. never parked just used like it should be.    Please look at all the photos. study them. read the auction. if you have questions let me know.   Thanks and Happy Bidding. The body on this Cherokee. is in very nice shape for never being restored.    It has been well cared for. and things fixed through the years. because it has been obviously used.   I am not sure when they put the flying eagle on the hood. it has grown on me. the perfect type a rig for it in my opinion.   It does have its fair share of chips and scratches on it.   Most of the paint you are looking on it are original.    I believe the rear flares have been repainted at some point on the rear section.  the drivers door was repainted at some point.   You can see some discoloration on the drivers front wheel flare in front.   Around the Chief "S" Emblem. on the passenger side. around it and the top of the rear quarter has been spotted back in. you have to look close.    Overall for a Jeep. it has very good bones. and a very nice good looking exterior on it.   There are small dings. on it. you can see some in pictures. and lots of little paint touch up spots on chips.    It is very glossy. and from 10' away. it looks pretty nice. when you get up close. or under lights. you can see little things here and there.   Remember that this is a 4wd. that has been used. it has been out in the back woods. out camping. and fishing. you name it. nbsp; it was there.   To me. it just looks perfect. I love the patina. I would take it to any Car Show. or Cruise in. any day of the week.   Anytime someone sees it. they are just amazed how nice this Cherokee is. especially because it has never been restored. just up kept.   There are some small rust bubbles. in the bottom of the rear flairs. some have cracked the paint.   There are some small bubbles at the bottom of the rear quarter panels as well.   There are a couple small bubbles on the bottom corner of the drivers door as well.    Very solid. rig though. nothing that I would be worried about in general. small things you can get fixed if you choose to in the future.    The roof gutters. are very clean. all the door jams are rust free. tailgate is very clean. the floor in the cargo area and wheel wheels. are very clean and original.    It has a bug guard up front at one time. so there are some little holes on top of the grill going across. that have been filled with rivits.   Overall. the bumpers and chrome are in nice shape for its age.   When you look down the sides. you can see small dings. just from being used. but nothing that really pops out at you. especially out in the bright sun. it is as sea of orange. and just looks awesome.   The original white tribal decal has some chips and cracks in it. from age. but looks good.   It is hard to explain every part of the exterior and every picture. just trying to explain it. and give you a general idea.   There is some rub though on some of the panels. on the edges. from age.   There are a couple thin spots on the passenger door that you can see.   The gas tank. you can see were there is discoloration and touchup. from the typical gas coming out at the pump.    Overall. thought I would never repaint this Cherokee. it is perfect just the way it is.   Undercarriage is in very nice shape. no major signs of any rust through. the floors are very nice. the frame is in great shape. no weak areas. very clean.

The interior is in very nice condition for its age.   The carpet is original. and has some wear on it. not to the point were I would replace it. but if you wanted to down the road that would be a nice upgrade.   The original door panels are in nice shape. dash pad has no cracks. very clean.   The steering wheel is very nice condition. horn is not working though.    The seats. are in excellent shape. correct pattern. that matches the door panels. and they match the side white decals. with the tribal print.   There are a few small cuts. on one the back on the drivers seat. and one down low on the seat back of the passengers side.   The rear seat is in good condition. does not have the same pattern. but matches well.    The side interior panels are in good shape as well.   The headliner. is the original carboard. but has warped a little and shrunk some. but overall. in good shape.    It has a CD player that works.    The heater works good. and fan blower works well.   The temp gauge is not currently working. but the other gauges look to be reading correctly. odometer and speedometer all work good.    Overall a pleasant. clean interior for its age. it does have some age. and is worn. but looks nice. seats had wool covers on them. when I got it. which may have protected them. I don't think they were recovered. because I honestly don't know were you would get the correct material with the tribal print.

Mechanically it seems in really nice shape.   This has the top engine option as well. original Z code 401 V8 factory 4v engine as well.   Engine runs very good. it starts right up. and sounds great.   It does not blow any smoke. pretty clean running.   It does have an exhaust leak on the passenger side. think it is the donut but not sure. I drive it around with no issues.   Underneath you can see were the engine has a little seepage. but nothing that is hitting the ground.   I did take off the valve covers. they were leaking a little. and put new gaskets on it.   The rockers were super clean looking as well.    I went ahead and restored the valve covers while I was at it as well. and the air cleaner lid to match.   The transmission is the GM TH400 Automatic. I think Jeep called it the Hydramatic. it shifts nicely. and in good shape.    This rig is has power brakes and power steering as well. and both seem to be in good shape.   Steering box. looks to have a little seeping as well.    The 4x4 system is the Borg Warner Quadra Trac. I'm not sure how it completely works. but believe it engages. when it feels slipping of the rear wheels. like new AWD rigs do today. I know that Jeep has used this system for a lot of years.   It does have a low range as well. underneath the drivers seat.    It seems to be in good shape. no noise or anything.   The Jeep runs and drives down the road very nice.   I just put brand new tires on it. they are 31/10. 5/15. all the way around. including the spare tire.   They look great on it. no rubbing.   They only have 10 miles on them. still have the nubs.    All the exterior lights are working. blinkers. taillights etc.    It could use general routine maintenance this winter if you want to. tune up. grease everything etc. but for now the fluid levels look good. checked the rearend. front dif. and transfer case and they looked good.    Overall. this is a rig you can jump in and just drive and enjoy.   The glass all looks to be in good shape. the door glass rolls up and down nicely and rear window rolls up and down.   The front windshield had a little chip that looks like it was repaired.   The windshield has a little fog to it along the bottom of it. not sure why.   It is an open canvas. hope someone will really enjoy it.

from Øistein Drangberg, dated 19 september 2017
Hello
I live in Oslo, Norway (Europe...), and I have some questions about shipping cars to Norway, as I never have done this before... It seems like Drammen (city) is the most common to ship to from USA to Norway.
- Is it so that you can get a car shipped internationally? And if so... - How mutch will that be..?
And I really love this -76 Cherokee..! :-)
Best regards
Øistein Drangberg
