1972 LINCOLN BUGAZZI

Conceived as an American car built to higher standards and luxury exceeding even that of Rolls-Royce. the Bugazzi was an exercise in ambition and excess. While a contemporary Lincoln Mark IV listed for $8. 40 and a new Rolls Royce Silver Shadow had a base price of about $19. 00. the Bugazzi originally sold for the princely sum of $29. 00; or enough to buy 15 brand new Ford Pintos in 1972. The Bugazzi is finished in 30-coats of stunning custom. hand-rubbed Pearl lacquer with 24-carat gold leaf hand laid pin striping. interior features include: gold upholstery. Persian rugs. Italian marble. television. built-in bar. and more. Keith Martin. publisher of Keither Martin's Sports Car Market and one of the world's foremost experts on automobile values had this to say about the sale of the only other Bugazzi known to exist. “This was a deal. and one day when Barris cars rule the auction block we will all be kicking ourselves. ” As evidence.
