1968 390 S Code 4 Speed California Special!

 

This is a one of one car with the Marti Report to verify!

 

They manufactured only 111 California Special 390 cid 4 speed cars! Only one was painted Brittany Blue! This is the car a true one of one!

 

This GT has just undergone an extensive rotisserie restoration. it is beautiful to say the least!

  Every nut and bolt with attention to fit and finish and every detail. Most everything on this car is new. rebuilt or refurbished!

 

Factory options:

390 cid engine

Toploader  4 speed

Black vinyl roof

California Special

GT equipment group

Wide oval tires

Power disc breaks

power steering

Am radio

Chrome styled wheels

 

Please keep in mind while being restored closely to original some performance mods have been made to the car.

 

The drive train has less than 300 miles on it!

 

Numbers matching vin stamped 390 cid bored 0. 030 over with a mild street cam.

1967 Intake. rebuilt heads. exhaust manifolds and air cleaner.

Original vin stamped toploader 4 speed completely rebuilt.

Original 9" rear end with 3. 50:1 gears

 

The suspension. power disc brakes. power steering all perform like brand new from the factory or better!

 

Custom subframe connectors where made for the car sometime in its history. While not being factory correct they were left on to  protect the body from twisting and flexing. Traction Master axle bars were added. Another non factory performance improvement to help the car with wheel hop and traction.

 

The interior is awesome! It feels. smells and looks like you are opening the door of the GT/CS on the Ford dealers showroom floor in 1968!  The bright work. paint finish and details are very nice!  Please look at the underdash photos you will be impressed.

All of the gauges. lights. radio. turn signals. wipers. heater. tach. speedometer work and perform as they should. One note is the horn was not working? Everything else down to the dome light was in working conditon.


This GT/CS looks awesome in the base clear coat brittany blue and the Calfornia Special Package. The car has a mean stance rolling on reproduction 10 spoke shelby wheels wrapped with new Cooper Cobra 215/70/15. .

 

If you have been looking for that one of one GT/CS 390 4 speed car to spend your hard earned money on this is the car.

This is an absolute no disappointment car!
