Gorgeous 100/6 fitted with many sporting options! Southern owned and driven since new! This is a numbers matching. investment grade Big Six that is ready to be driven anywhere!
Introduced in 1956 as a replacement to the 100. Austin-Healey's second round of its big car debuted with a two inch longer wheelbase. two additional seats and a brand new 6-cylinder replacing the old Inline-4. The body was revamped with a more aggressive stance and the previously foldable windscreen was now fixed. The new 2639cc C-series motor came straight from the Austin Westminster sedan and initially produced 102 hp but was later upped to 117 in 1957 with a revision of the intake manifold. In November of 1957. production moved from Longbridge to the MG plant at Abingdon to accommodate increasing demands. Production of the 100/6 ended in 1959 with the introduction of the 3000.
We are very excited to offer this 1958 Austin-Healey 100/6 BN4 2+2 Roadster! Finished in a sporting combination of Colorado Red with Black Leather and contrasting red piping. this BN4 is a sight for sore eyes! In addition to an original. numbers matching motor and 4-speed manual transmission with Overdrive. this car is equipped with many extras: Dual chrome mirrors. Smiths gauges (oil/water. speedo/odo. tach. fuel). locking chrome gas cap. front/rear bumper guards. rubber Austin-Healey floor mats. Smiths heater and defroster. side curtains. full tonneau cover. Triplex laminated windscreen. seatbelts. Lucas Gold coil and stainless steel exhaust!
As Healey enthusiasts know. there were two batches of 100/6s built and this falls well into the first by virtue of the 52939 VIN and 563 body serial number. After being brought over. this 100/6 started life in Alabama but then moved to Georgia and finally Florida before making its way to our showroom. Despite having an older restoration. the car has been lovingly driven and enjoyed and remains fully functional to this day. All instrumentation and accessories work and the motor sounds triumphant with the stainless exhaust system. It has a beefy sound that onlookers won't soon forget! The paint and chrome are both very presentable. The transmission shifts wonderfully with no grinding in any gears and the overdrive has been recently serviced and is fully functional! The supple leather interior looks to have been redyed recently and shows very well! Complete with the car are jack and crank. as well as cloth-covered wiring for the 12V conversion. As a result. the car has increased starting capacity and brighter headlights. We would love to be able to answer any additional question you may have on this Healey; please don't hesitate to ask!
