Here we have a fully restored MGB Roadster. There is no better starter classic. they are both easy to maintain and beautiful. we always try and have one around as they always start easily!
It is sometimes easy to forget what delightful little cars MGB's are. Beautifully styled. easy to maintain and more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic. they are in many ways the perfect classic car.
Launched in 1962 to replace the MGA which had done wonders for the reputation of the marque and sold in previously unheard-of numbers. the MGB was also an immediate success. an enlarged 1. 89cc version of the BMC 'B' series engine with pushrod operated overhead-valves. it developed a useful 95bhp along with bags of torque at very low revs.
The previous owner of this 1970 example purchased the car around 20 years ago. He embarked on a lengthy and comprehensive bare metal restoration which took over 12 years. Having now added up the bills (never a good idea!). the total amount spent exceeds £17. 00. The interior has all been replaced. with new leather on the seats and a new hood. while the engine. gearbox and overdrive were also given the full treatment. The car has covered just 700 miles since completion.
MOTd until July 2015. here is an opportunity to acquire a fully restored MGB Roadster for a fraction of its restoration cost. It is not a concours car. just a beautiful useable car you can use and show. Prices of all MGBs have been on the move lately and it may not be so long before this car's restoration cost/value equilibrium is restored!
