EXTERIOR
This charming 2CV never fails to bring a smile to your face. Painted in a lovely warm shade of yellow it perfectly complements the cars retro design. The paintwork is in good condition having been re-sprayed not too long ago. there are very few stone chips to be found to the scooping bonnet and front wings. There is a light patina to some of the edges of the body work but as a whole this van remains solid and reliable. There is photographic evidence of much of the restoration work that has been carried out over its life. Having had various replacement parts over the past 5 years the chrome grille. window surrounds and light grey front bumper are in fine order with no unsightly dents or damage.

INTERIOR
As you can imagine the interior space of the 2CV is a minimalist affair with very little in the way of trim. switch gear or luxuries. Swing open the light doors and you are presented with two front seats wrapped in soft grey seat covers which remain unmarked. The doors are clad with black door cards and the minimal dashboard houses the simple driver controls and dials which all work exactly as they should. The foot-well is protected by a large fitted rubber mat. The rear cabin of the van is spacious. sparse and simply painted in matching yellow paint. All of the floor pans and panels are in excellent condition with no signs of damage or bad repairs.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 602cc flat 2 cylinder engine fires into life quickly at the turn of the key and idles smoothly up to temperature. On the open road the engine feels keen and responsive. revving freely. and while not exactly high performance. it is more than capable to propel the light weight van along the roads briskly.

Release the column operated parking brake and the 4 speed gearbox slots through the gears neatly with only a little care needed going back into first due to the limited nature of the standard syncro.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Shod in a brand new set of Toyo tyres the wheels are in excellent condition. As with the front bumper. the wheels are painted in a lovely light shade of grey and topped off with beautiful chrome centre caps. On arrival here at 4 Star we gave the van a full brake fluid service after inspection. The brakes are performing exactly as they should. pulling the light weight vehicle to stop smoothly with ease.

HISTORY FILE
The 2CV AK350 was originally registered in France in 1970. then in 1998 the van was imported to the UK. On arrival the 2CV was restored and a right hand drive conversion was carried out by Frome 2CV. The current owner purchased the van in 2006 from a restaurant owner in Hartlepool where it was used as a promotional vehicle for their company.

In the history file there are photos of the car during its restoration. old tax discs. MOT certificates. invoices from the past 5 years for replacement parts and work carried out. as well as a magazine article featuring this 2CV AK350 among a few other examples.

Recent work carried out on the van includes brake fluid service. under-seal applied to the front wings. replacement bulbs. front grill and wiper blades.
