EQUIPMENT

EXTERIOR
Amazingly. this E12 is still coated in its original factory Biscay blue paintwork that remains in pristine condition with a deep glossy shine. On close inspection the only negative to be found is a small dent just above the bumper next to the nearside headlamp. however there are no blemishes. scuffs or corrosion to be found on any of the arches or paintwork. Being a car born of the 1970s there is plenty of chrome trim to be found on both bumpers. window surrounds. door handles and wing mirrors. all of which is in fantastic bright condition showing none of the usual pitting issues and complementing the blue tone of the paintwork perfectly. Smaller details such as the black grills located on the C-pillars and the badges also remain in perfect order. showing no signs of fading or damage.

INTERIOR
The interior of the 520 has a minimal feel with vintage styling's. the grey cloth seats with matching grey piping look the part. both the seat backs and bases remain in perfect condition with no sagging. marks or tears. still feeling plump and supportive from minimal use. The black centre console and dashboard still present a beautiful texture with no scratches or fading whatsoever. it is evident from the overall condition of the interior surfaces that this car has always been garaged and kept out of direct sunlight. This is also evident in other details throughout the car such as the condition and texture of the steering wheel. gear knob and handbrake which all show minimal wear. The contrasting white roof lining is remarkably clean and remains free from any damage. as does the carpet throughout the car. protected in the foot wells by a set of beautifully woven coco over mats.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 520 is equipped with a silky smooth 2. 0 litre engine which has only covered a mere 24. 11. With this limited mileage and a full service history to present. it is clear that this car has been maintained to highest standard throughout its life. The engine remains in excellent mechanical condition feeling smooth and responsive. idling up to temperature correctly after ignition. The car had a recent service and cambelt change at 24k miles by ETA Motorsport BMW Specialists. The 4 speed automatic gear box provides effortless performance after a recent gearbox oil flush. pulling through the gears with ease.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
At the corners remain the original 14" steel wheels. complementing the cars classic appearance perfectly. On close inspection there is a small amount of light surface corrosion to be found on the wheels. however your eye is immediately drawn to the beautiful polished chrome wheel dishes that are in place. looking terrific in each corner. The wheels come shod in a brand new set of Continental ContiECO Contact 3 tyres. even the original tyres that the car was supplied on are still with the car including the original stamped BMW wheel weights. both were only replaced due to age. Both front brake pads and hoses have been recently replaced along with a full brake fluid flush during its most recent service. As a result the brake performance feels strong. pulling the car up smoothly and controlled in a straight.

HISTORY FILE
The 520 was first registered in April 1979 and Supplied new by Hallamshire Motor Company Ltd. The original service booklet is present having been stamped 9 times at the correct intervals over 24k miles by either BMW main dealers or specialists. The last inspection was a cambelt service in August 2012 carried out by BMW specialists ETA Motorsport. The history file contains old MOT certificates to help verify the mileage and copies of every V5 document issued. The original silver BMW document holder is also still present containing all the owner's manuals and guides as well as the supplying dealers. service managers business card that can still be found in its plastic holder. A true time warp piece.
