I am listing this car for my son. He bought the car some years ago. as a very rusty wreck. and reshelled it into a new Heritage shell over a period of years.

A very comprehensive photographic record was made of the restoration. and the file of invoices and other documents is substantial.

The BMIHT Certificate shows that the car was originally supplied to Appleyards of Leeds. in Snowberry White. with Black trim and hood. The same colour scheme was used in the restoration. albeit with black leather trim and a zip out rear window hood (very useful feature).

The car was rebuilt using almost all new or reconditioned parts. the engine coming from Moss. the trim from Moto-Build etc. The car had several sensible and subtle up grades. for example high capacity alternator. braided brake and oil cooler hoses. telescopic front and rear shock absorbers. tubular exhaust manifold with a stainless steel exhaust system.  Kenlowe electric fan. high output headlamps. the centre arm rest from the slightly later model. and conversion to a single 12v battery (without any surgery to the body shell) with an isolator and negative earth (stops your sat nav and phone blowing up).

The car still carries its original Kingston upon Hull registration number.

When the shell was being prepared. the underside. engine bay and boot were professionally sprayed in modern "two pack" paint. and the exterior panels in cellulose. the very best of both worlds giving durability where necessary. but that lovely depth of shine that only cellulose paint can bring.

When the shell returned from the coachbuilder. a huge amount of Dinitrol was injected under high pressure into the sill structures. the doors. the structural box sections. the door pillars. inner wings. very much in line with the reccomendations from the rust proofing suppliers. Before you think that this was ladled on like some form of automotive Artex. it was not!! It was done with an eye on keeping body colour visible under wings and under floor. but unashamedly using one of the best rust protection materials in all key critical areas. There was careful use of  modern sound deadening acoustic mat in critical areas. to make the car a good long distance tourer.

The engine was found to badly worn. and so a full recon engine was sourced from Moss. and fitted along with (deep breath) new loom. calipers. shocks. wheel cylinders. rad. water pump. heater. masters cylinders. petrol tank and pump. petrol pipe. brake pipes and hoses. full interior. hood frame. windscreen frame and screen. specialist rebuild of the carburettors with K and N filters. door handles and vent grille. fully refinished dash panel. painted wire wheels. tyres. distributor. and on and on! I know have left a lot out of this list. but the objective was to make the car as reliable and usable as possible. The car is absolutley "on the button" and runs and drives very well indeed.

Since the restoration was finished. the car has been impeccably maintained. and has been to France. Germany and the low countries. and all over the UK without missing a beat.

The car is currently on SORN. but will MOT'd in the next few days. and will be taxed (so generous of them. its free!) for a year.

The reason for sale is simple. Two seats simply don't work for a young married couple. and so it is with huge regret that the car will have to be sold. But it does mean that they would be happy to talk about a possible part of a four seater MG or other similar 1950/60/70's classic car. MG Magnette. Farina. Two stroke SAAB. they are open to offers. cash either way. But please be sensible. they are asking a very realistic price for the car. so no optimistic offers of a straight swap for a Trabant in pieces!

And of course. the normal eBay comments. the car goes nowhere until cleared funds are in their bank (so no wonderful scams please).

The car can be inspected at almost any time. by appointment.

If in any doubt about the car PLEASE come and view it. No test drives unless you show us your licence!

In summary. a well and carefully restored MG B roadster. which has had gentle use and good maintenance since. It is ready for the next owner to use and enjoy.
