Dodge : Charger RT

1971 Dodge Charger RT: I have for sale a real Charger RT 440 ci MAGNUM "U" code "B" body southern U. S car rust free with original body. panels and totally restored.  ALWAYS GARAGE KEPT UNDER A COVER.

VIN:  WS23U1G103823.    Clear Ontario. Canada title with no liens.  

MILES: Its reading 24675 on the odometer.

HISTORY: I can not tell you a lot about the car. only what the decoded VIN reveals and what the previous owner told me.  I looked for 5 Years for a nice clean solid rust free big block charger and this one was the best for the price.  It's an original St. Louis car that was shipped to Toronto Canada where it was totally restored and because it was rust free the original body. panels etc were used.  There are still CHRYSLER numbers stamped on the chassis. rad support. fenders and elsewhere.  There are no fender tags or build sheet.  For family reasons. I regret I have to sell this car.

HAS THE CAR EVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT? I see no signs of any accidents.  Body panels are straight. no waves. body gaps are perfect. frame rails are clean solid and straight.  The rad support has numbers stamped on it. so it's not an aftermarket repro.  

HAS THE CAR GOT ANY BODY FILER/BONDO? I see no rusty holes. no bubbles under the paint.  no thick areas. no wavy areas.  But doesn't every car have some sort of filler?  Body has original panels before the resto and I had period correct hood pins installed properly.  All Decals and emblems are brand new.  

ENGINE: It's a 1970 big block 440 ci magnum motor with block #'s  1.  13.  70.  -  2536430-5.  00236775.  Not the original engine but it is date code correct.  It has an early generation edlebrock fuel injection that cost $6000.  Electronic ignition. Runs perfect. idles perfect. burns no oil. no smoke. no knocks or ticks.  I know it has been modified when it was re-built approximately 5 years ago.  The previous owner didn't give me the intimate details.  However it was a professional engine builder in Toronto Canada that did the rebuild. There is current not an issue at all with the engine and its performance.  It's a rocket ship!  

Aluminum rad. engine runs at 185 to 190 degrees.

TRANSMISSION: Its an original automatic car but converted to a 4 speed car.  Did an awesome job preserving the integrity of the car.  Has a A833 big block 4 speed hurst pistol grip.  Shifts perfect. no vibration or noise.  Also a Hays performance clutch.  Smooth and strong clutch.

REAR-END: Sure Grip 8 3/4 rear end with 391 gears.  Previous owner told me 391's.  

STEERING: Original power steering.  Very little play.  But all old original cars do.

BRAKES: Disc on the front as all 71 RT's did.  Rear drum.  Brakes good. needs nothing.

PAINT: B5 blue excellent quality. clear coat with no chips. bubbles or dust bumps.  Great shine but it has not been wet sanded.  To make perfect. get it wet sanded. For this excellent quality driver car. I rate the paint a 9 out of 10.  

CHROME: Both original bumpers have bee re-chromed and are like new. The grill is solid and clean with no cracks or chips.  But the paint on the grill looks a little worn.  Re-paint the front grill and its perfect.  Rear tail panel has no chips. cracks or dents. even the lenses are great.  Rear tail light panel is painted black.  All the trim is original and presentable. good shine with some minor wear scuffing.  Trim is not new. but good to excellent quality.  All bezels are mint.  

WHEELS AND TIRES: Ralley rims are like brand new. so I suspect they are reproduction.  Rears are 15 by 8.  Fronts are 15 by 7.  Rubber is BF Goodridge TA's that are like new with approx. 1000 miles.  

EXHAUST SYSTEM: Full tube headers ceramic coated with magna flow mufflers.  Like new condition as shown in the photos.  Even the clamps have no rust.

INTERIOR: Has been restored.  Headliner good with no rips or tears. seats re-done. no holes. rips or tears.  Dash top has a new dash cover. original sun visors. good console and door panels which have been painted.  Carpet brand new.  All seat belts.  Original radio missing. but has a kenwood stereo with 6 cd changer and equalizer in trunk.  No door light switches.  150 mph Ralley gauge luster. all gauges work. but I can't get my high beam to work.  Wipers work and the dash is an AC dash.  But no AC.  After market tack. temp and oil pressure gauge installed.

GLASS: Believed to be all original glass in excellent condition with no cracks or chips.  All windows wind up or down.  

FRAME AND UNDERSIDE: Mint condition for a driver car that had not seen rain.  No visible rust anywhere. frame rails rust free. mint condition. painted black and the inside of the frame rails have a light film of rust proof oil.  Floors. inner fenders. cross members. torsion bars and k frame excellent rust free and all painted black.  No over spray observed.  Original fenders. quarters and trunk pan.  The original trunk pan had a small repair on the passenger side the size of approx 2 inches by 2 inches.  Not rotted. was just pitted.  Trunk now painted and looks original and like new.  All bushings replaced.  

LIGHTS: The headlights work. the tail lights work. the turns signals work. the brake lights work.  High beams don't work but all hardware is there.  Interior dome light doesn't. Horn woks.

WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? 45 min drive north of Toronto Ontario Canada.  Innisfil. Ontario.   Vehicle for pick up only.  Or purchaser arranges for shipping.  I can make myself available to assist.  A deposit of $500 US funds to be received by email or pay pal within 48 hours of the auction ending.  Deposit non refundable.  The car is also advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early or if the reserve is not met.
