1955 Chevrolet BelAir 2-Door Sedan - Rotisserie Restored    (See videos of the car below)
A highly detailed custom restoration that was completed in 2013 with little to no expense spared! The car started as a complete "rust free" original body with 71. 00 miles and included all original body panels with zero rust! It was then stripped down and rotisserie restored over 2-1/2 years to reveal this highly appointed custom street machine that's cleverly cloaked in a gentlemen's finish with award winning paint. The fit and finish is outstanding on this car as House of Kolor 3-stage paint was applied only once the door and fender gaps were executed and fit to a very high standard. The result is a very classy looking color scheme that garners accolades from people of all walks. and to appeals to just about anyone!
The chassis was purpose built and reinforced front to back with stitch welded seams. an integrated Art Morrison roll cage (easily removed if needed). custom Heidt's front suspension with Earle Williams 2" drop spindles. a true 4-link rear suspension build from Earle Williams. and adjustable coil over billet shocks balancing the car on all four corners. Stopping power comes from 4-wheel disk brakes using Wilwood 12. 19" 4-piston calipers. drilled & slotted rotors. and power assist is provided with the addition of a hydraulic power brake system from Hydra-tech Braking Systems. Stops on a dime. literally!
Horsepower is delivered from a pump gas friendly Dart 565ci big block making 713hp and 727 ft lbs of torque at the flywheel. The engine was built in 2013 before being tuned and broken in using a Stuska / DEPAC engine dyno with perfect street manners being further tuned on a rear wheel chassis dyno at Ryan Brown Performance. Its paired with a Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission and shifts smoothly using a McLeod RST hydraulic clutch. The internals are protected using a Quicktime bell housing. and an aluminum Inland Empire 3. 5" drive shaft transfers power to a narrowed Currie 9" rear that's fit with 373 gears. a nodular center section and 35 spline axles by Strange Engineering.
Besides being finished with a smoothed firewall. a highly detailed engine bay. advanced on board electronics and a cleverly hidden wiring system. the interior has been tastefully completed in full rich leather using brightly stitched seams. The dash is clean and uncluttered with upgraded VHX gauge controls. hidden accessories including window & audio control. and the under dash area includes a well hidden digital ignition system from MSD electronics. Endless custom touches continue throughout the car including custom pedals by Clayton Machine. Rick's 22 gallon tank with the filler neck hidden in behind a remotely operated tail light (left rear). It's then fed to the engine using an Aeromotive fuel system from front to rear. Headers are custom stepped 321 Stainless and it flows through 3" custom stainless exhaust and Hooker Stainless Aero Chamber mufflers. Wheels include 15" Weld Classic RT's designed to fit over the larger brakes. and they stick to the ground with 28"x12. 50 Hoosier Pro Streets! They provide a great ride and the wheels really compliment the colors of this car!
A fast car with what can only be described as having a "stunning appearance". and custom engineered so that it can be driven using 91 octane right off the pumps. It's engine design allows this car to be driven easily by just about anyone. and it can handle a simple Tuesday milk run. or a weeknight cruise without being fearful of how much power it actually has! That being said. there's still enough business under the hood to make this much more than just another pretty show car. It can literally run down the track in full street trim. and is truly capable of a low 11 second ET on street tires. Throw a set of slicks on the back. and it'll easily stick a better launch to run into the mid to high tens in the quarter mile. Yes. it's that fast.
Now where else can you get this kind of versatility. the classic looks of a truly "Iconic" hot rod. great presentation at any National car show. and the simplicity of driving a well engineered hot rod that goes anywhere on pump gas? Sixth gear on the highway and it cruises along doing 75 mph at 2200 rpm. That and it averages 9 mpg with very gentle street manners. and is easy to drive & control!
Well balanced. absolutely! Well built. undoubtedly! Inexpensive. No!
